METROPOLITAN PGAMETROPOLITAN PGA Nearly 200 at Fall Meeting at Bethpage - Three New Directors Elected Support for Ted Bishop is Overwhelming

There was certainly no doubt about how the membership viewed the recent decision by the PGA’s Board of Directors to terminate Ted Bishop’s Presidency. A near unanimous crowd stood in support of the 38th President, in spite of his social media gaffe that took on a life of its own. Success Stories Abound in Junior Fund-Raising and Patriot Golf Day - Fall Meeting Raffle Rewards Participating Clubs and Professionals

Our December Newsletter will include a recap of the fund-raising efforts by our professionals and will include some of the late season events and reports (Saint Andrew’s and Old Oaks among them). A special thanks to everyone who made an effort to sup-port our junior golf initiatives and to promote the Patriot Golf Day mission. Thanks to Brendan Dlouhy and Titleist, we also again raffled off a number of prizes based on every thousand dollars that clubs raised for Folds of Honor. We also have the following administrative positions available: Tournament Director/Sponsor Manager in the Iowa Section—Click Here KPMG Championship Volunteer Operations—Click Here Tournament Operations Director in the Illinois Section—Click Here The PGA and their Employment Consultants have also asked us to make our membership aware of the following information: “The PGA has become aware of possible fraudulent unsolicited email job offers in Mexico, Central America, and South America. It has been reported that these emails have typically been generated through a yahoo.com, yahoo.com.mx, yahoo.se or similar email address. They have been reported to be for Golf Instructor or Director of Instruction positions with a monthly salary of approximately $17,000 USD. Upon responding to the initial email, PGA members have reported being asked for an up-front fee for registration and certification of teaching credentials. The PGA suggests that any unsolicited job offers that require applicants to pay up-front fees may be fraudulent and should be considered disingenuous, and recommends that PGA members use caution in engaging with such offers.” We have the following Camp Opportunity: Great summer job opportunity.
