• Following 2009’s acclaimed release Monster, Monster, Florida natives THE ALMOST will release of their third album, Fear Inside Our Bones on June 14 via Tooth & Nail Records/Shock.• Written over the course of one year and recorded live by Marshall Altman (Tom Morello, Ingrid Michaelson, William Fitzsimmons), The Almost bunkered down in a small room in Nashville's Omni Studios for only ve days and played every note of Fear Inside Our Bones together in unison. The band made the decision to record the album in the same room completely live, and the album was born in their collective blood, sweat, and tears.“It wasn't a piecemeal process as the majority of modern records are,” explains lead vocalist, lyricist and guitarist Aaron Gillespie “It was amazing doing everything live. I'll do records like this for the rest of my life." In those ve days, The Almost tapped into elegantly visceral rock energy. Album opener Ghost echoes with unbridled blues intensity before converging on a divinely heavy refrain. The rst single lifted from the album I'm Down steams ahead like a swaggering Southern freight train before the singer carries a soulful chorus proclaiming, "Don't count me out."• Amidst all of the thundering rhythms and massive riffs of Fear Inside Our Bones, The Almost's honesty resounds the loudest, with Aaron Gillespie concluding “Music is the great communicator. This is my soundtrack, heartbeat, and who I want to be. I hope everyone feels like this record belongs to them”

Ash Grunwald + Scott Owen and Andy Strachan = GARGANTUA.

• Just two weeks ago, there was but a distant thought, echoing through the creative mind of Mr ASH GRUNWALD. It was a quiet idea but it was persistent. It softly projected the notion that somehow, maybe, two thirds of The Living End could be his band on more than just a single…the planets aligning perhaps so together they could bash out a full albums worth of tracks.• The formerly polite idea began to shout, on a Friday morning not that long ago, after Ash found himself in the somewhat unexpected position of performing live on Triple M Breakfast in Melbourne. He’d recently released his, Scott and Andy’s ripping cover of Gnarls Barkley’s ‘Crazy’ which was meant to serve as a beacon for Ash’s community; alerting them of the upcoming national tour that the lads are soon to embark on but ‘Crazy’ had a different direction. Developing a life well beyond the borders of a loyal fanbase, ‘Crazy’ made it’s way out into commercial radio land, and took Ash with it. So as the snowball rolled, so did the idea and that very afternoon Ash found his way to St Kilda’s Hothouse Studios with the lads from The Living End and amped up for a few hours of sonic exploration. Those hours turned into 6 straight days of recording that ended with an immense sense of excitement and an idea realized. With the encouragement and enthusiasm of Scott Owen and Andy Strachan, Ash Grunwald’s rock monster was welcomingly unleashed and GARGANTUA was born.• Comprised of two new and original tracks (involving CSG, Arnie and a fuck you attitude), two vastly different cover songs and a handful of utterly off the hook reworkings of some of Ash’s biggest tracks, this album documents the ndings of an unplanned experiment in altered methodology:• Ash Grunwald, Scott Own and Andy Strachan will embark on a 14 date national tour in June/July to promote Gargantua.

• Fusing elements of atmospheric post-rock/punk and melodic hardcore, Kentucky's emotive post-punk band Xerxes has spent the last four years of their existence carving their own path with a true DIY work ethic fueled by ever evolving creativity. And the result has been nothing short of incredible, resulting in one of rock's most promising new bands.• XERXES signed with No Sleep Records in 2012 and subsequently released their debut full-length Our Home Is a Deathbed later that year to mass critical and fan appeal. After several tours of the U.S. the band returned home to record their follow-up EP, Would you understand?, which is due out on June 21, 2013.

• It’s been a busy year for MIXTAPES. Almost a year ago to the day of the upcoming release for Ordinary Silence they made a splash with their debut full-length, Even On The Worst Nights, which quickly catapulted the band to the forefront of indie-punk as one of the most exciting bands to hit the scene in years. And now, only a short year later, the proli c band returns to crank up the volume for fans with a raw, heartfelt album that could prove to be their best yet.• Since their last release, Mixtapes spent time honing their songwriting on tour, and for the rst time ever the band came together as one, all contributing to the writing process. Working again with producer/engineer Eric Tuffendsam at Moonlight Studios in Ohio, Mixtapes emerged from the studio in early 2013 with fourteen cohesive songs that maintain the band’s signature sound while showing growth and maturity for a dynamic sounding album.

Heavy music has gotten so goddamn serious in the past decade.

• Instead of cracking open a few beers, raising their sts, hollering at chicks, and having a good time, so many bands choose to whine about their hearts and their hair. Where’s the fun in that? Thankfully, Atlanta’s Attila haven’t forgotten how to party on their fth full-length album, About That Life. • Boasting brutal grooves and a whole lot of bravado, this is metal at its most raw, raucous, and ratchet. The quintet—Chris “Fronz” Fronzak [lead vocals], Chris Link [guitar], Nate Salameh [guitar], Sean Heenan [drums], and Kalan Blehm [bass]—incorporate hip-hop avor into head-crushing riffs for an intoxicating sonic brew. You can jump in the pit or shake your ass to it—at the same time.• When they hit the studio with producer Joey Sturgis [Asking Alexandria, The Devil Wears Prada] in 2012, Attila had one goal.• “We just wanted to make a really raunchy album,” says Fronz with a smirk. “Going into it, we knew that there would be a heavy hip-hop in uence so we put ourselves into that mindset. I only listened to ignorant rap for the month leading up to the album. It’s really heavy rap-in uenced metal with some southern rock thrown in. It’s the soundtrack for a badass.”• In many ways, Attila tap into the carefree spirit that rock music has been about since its inception. That’s what really makes them stand out amongst a scene that doesn’t know how to cut loose and have a good time.• Ultimately, it’s about everybody having a good time along with them. “I want people to smile and enjoy the music,” concludes Fronz. “Music can get you through anything. If you’re having a bad day, play our album and head bang. Start a party. Live life!”
