    Finland is in Europe. It has got around 53 millionsof inhabitants. The total area is 338.000 km. Thecapital of Finland is Helsinki. Finnish and Swedish

    are the languages of Finland.

    The first inhabitants of Finland were the Sami (Lapp)people, who were forced to move to the arctic regions.

    By 1809 the whole of Finland was conquered byAlexander l of Russia. In 1917 Finland declared theindependence.

    In 1995 Finland became a member of the EuropeanUnion.
