Magazine proposalFateen Rehman

A very well known artist is Sneakbo who is known all around England especially in the most ghetto areas

Target AudiencePeople aged between 16-19

80% male

20% female

All ethnicity

The target audience for my magazine will be teenagers/young adults who

listen to hip op music. Generally they will enjoy parting. The majority will be

male as the hip hop/rap music is mainly based around male artists.

An older age will not enjoy reading about street rap and ex-street

gangsters. The ethnicity does not matter as people from all different locations

will read the magazine.

The audience could possibly be people who relate to the street culture within rap/hip hop music. Therefore it could be people who preferably live the poorer areas of England in the council estate etc.

Skepta is one of the most known grime artist known around England and most likely the face of grime music

Some names than I could use

Name/typography of the magazine

The name of the magazine should be something which relates to the genre of the music presented in the magazine itself. It should also be something which has a related meaning to music and the genre. I will choose a name which I can create a scheme to and link different features within the magazine to the name/title.

Magazine featuresThe hip hop magazine will have various features which will allow the readers to interact with the magazine by finding more information or being given the chance to get involved in opportunities. It will also contain celebrity news and interviews with fresh artist who are new to the music industry.

One main feature it will have is a section with information about local parties and raves. This is because the magazine is a based in England and so will contain details of events taking place in England.

The magazine could contain adverts within to advertise clothing brands, music albums or singles or to allow the reader to subscribe to the magazine to receive news and updates.

FEATURES• Celebrity gossip • Social networking sites • Exclusives interviews • Mini competitions • Dates of tours and events • Hip hop fashion • Local parties/ raves • Adverts

Photos/Design As the genre of the magazine will be hip hop, I must take primary photos and collect a range of images relating to the genre. To do this, I must find an individual to make my artist and add features such as clothing or decorations to make the theme hip hop based

The design of my magazine will be very similar to the American hip hop magazines such as xxl or rap up. I am going to keep my colour scheme very simple and use just black and white to give a sense of darkness and evil in my magazine. my images will also have to contribute to this therefore I'm going to using a professional studio to take my phots and dress accordingly.

Here I have taken few shots to see how the camera work

Typography This custom font is very eye-catching. The format is very bold and brick however there is a paint splash effect to it as well almost as if the letters are made with wooden planks splattered with paint. I have chosen this font because there is a slight hip hop feel to it with the splatter of the paint portraying street graffiti and wooden planks being the walls

This bold font has a “concrete jungle” style to it with the city landscape of skyscrapers on the bottom of the lettering. This creates a hip hop sort of feel as hip hop started in new York city and is still famous there. This font will wok well with a hip hop magazine as it conveys the hip hop culture.

This font is very bold in comparison to the others. It is a brick like font which gives a tower like feel to the typography the middle of the letters are eroded and look like they have been vandalised. I have chosen this font because it conveys hip hop culture and the bold typography makes it stand out from other text.
