ANNOUNCEMENTS & UPCOMING EVENTS, Week of March 12 THE SHACK: Everyone is invited to see the new movie, “The Shack,” playing in Longmont on March 19. “The Shack” wrestles with the timeless question, “Where is God in a world so filled with unspeakable pain?” A discussion will follow at the church.

LENTEN COLORING DEVOTIONS: People of all ages are invited to be part of a new spiritual experience - through coloring. EVERYONE (children/parents/retired folk, etc.) is welcome to join us for a thoughtful time together, creating beautiful pieces of art related to the ministry of Jesus. STEPHEN MINISTRY: LPUMC is blessed! Our Stephen Ministers are so busy providing care and support that we are unable to handle the current needs. Therefore, we are preparing to select and train another class. At Longs Peak United Methodist Church, our Mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

Visitor Guides, Church Activities and Classes are available at the Welcome Center in the Narthex (lobby).

Nursery is available for infants and toddlers under age 5 and is staffed by two attendants. (Accommodations for older children must be approved by Nursery Coordinator.) A Cry Room is available to the north of the Sanctuary, with a window to see and hear the service, for parents looking for a quiet spot to comfort a child.

Children and youth are always encouraged to join us in worship! All are invited to come forward during the Children’s Moment to hear a special kid-friendly message. Those under the age of 7 may choose a blue Busy Bag from the Narthex; these are filled with quiet worship activities

Sunday School for age 3 to 12th grade meets from 10:25-11:30 AM from September through May. Preschool and elementary students must be signed in/out by a parent. Contact Jo Ann Hauger at [email protected] for more information.

Prayer Request Slips may be found in this bulletin; tear off at the perforations and place in offering plate or you may activate the Prayer Chain via instructions or use the PINC pew card for confidential prayers.

HOLY COMMUNION

We will not observe Communion during Lent. Instead, we will draw closer to God through spiritual disciplines. Communion will resume on Holy Thursday.

WEDNESDAYS

Dinner is on us at 6:00 PM. We will be serving a light meal every Wednesday in Fellowship Hall. You don’t have to bring anything except yourself…and a friend (love offerings are most welcome). Everyone is welcome to our OPEN TABLE. It is a great way to meet our church family and friends! See you there.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH FAIR Sunday, March 26, 8:30 – 10:30 AM in Fellowship Hall. This is a good opportunity for the congregation to have local, non-profits share information about the work they do in our community. BOOK STUDIES ON THE ROAD TO THE CROSS: This book allows you to experience Easter through the eyes of the everyday people who witnessed the triumphal entry, saw Jesus drag his cross to Calvary, and cried through Christ’s last words. Class will meet Tues at 2 PM or Wed at 6:45 PM depending on interest starting March 7 or 8th. Books are in Crossroads for $11.

CRIES OF THE POOR: You’ll discover what the Bible has to say about poverty and how Christians can proclaim good news to the poor. Bruce Armstrong will lead this 4 week study on Sunday mornings at 10:30 starting March 5. Books are available for $7.
