In early 2016, the agency instituted a proposed rule seeking to eliminate the present three-tiered rating system with a single rating of “unfit.” A panel of legal experts will challenge the validity and explore the impact and liability of “safety fitness determination.”

With every advance in technology comes a change in how shippers, 3PLs, carriers and other industry players talk to one another. Application Programing Interface communication has been used by some industry trade groups for nearly a decade, but recent market pressures have brought new focus to API messaging as a replacement for EDI dispatches.
