Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia/Italy: two pilot cases on possible economic aspects connected with

1) the environmental certification of a model territory, 2) recovery of abandoned areas due to elimination of borders;

Region of Piedmont/Italy: two pilot cases on 1) renovation of old traditional hamlets to sustain tourism and agricultural-breeding activities, 2) refurbishment of traditional buildings based on an innovative assessment tool whose acronym is AEBAT;

THE WORKPACKAGE “RED LINE”

Maintaining local identity and enhancing the sense of belonging

can be considered the main issues which identify

the red line

linking these project cases under a common spatial development

vision:

recovery and improvement of the urban environment by preserving architectural peculiarities,

exploitation of environmental, landscape and natural heritage,
