A risk assessment is carried out by a company as a means of identifying and trying to minimise potential risks.

Risk assessments will normally include the following information: Hazard Name What are the risks? Who is at risk? How can it be controlled? Level of Risk

Safe Working Practices

These are often put in place after a risk assessment to give instruction on how to carry out a task safely.

Safe working practices can be set out for many tasks, even straight forward ones just to minimise the risks a person may face when doing a job.

An example would be as follows:1. Risk assessment in a science lab identifies

a danger with using chemicals.

2. Safe working practices are implemented to ensure students wear goggles.

Location Recce

A location recce is typically carried out before recording a video to test the suitability of a location.

Someone visits a location to check: Suitability for filming Potential Problems Access to site Facilities available Potential light / sound issues Permission required
