Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia is owned by the Indigenous Land Corporation (ILC) and manages tour-

ism and resorts on their behalf. With a strong commitment to social responsibility, all profits from our business

activities go towards supporting Indigenous training and employment across Australia.

Voyages offers experience-based holidays in spectacular wilderness locations including Ayers Rock Resort in

the iconic Red Centre, Home Valley Station in the Kimberley region of Western Australia, and tourism facilities

at Mossman Gorge in Tropical Queensland.

Our Vision:

Ayers Rock Resort offers a World Class Indigenous Tourism Experience where guests can interact

with Indigenous people and their culture whilst experiencing the magic of Uluru and Kata Tjuta.

We aim for 50 percent Indigenous participation in the Ayers Rock Resort workforce by 2018.

We have established the National Indigenous Training Academy with 100 Indigenous people participating

in enterprise-based training each year.

Anangu communities are assisted to develop businesses that provide goods and services to Ayers Rock Resort.

Yulara is home for our Team Members, Business Partners and their Families and we strive to make it a welcom-

ing, diverse and safe environment where residents treat each other respectfully and live harmoniously.

3

Our Values:

Respect

We treat others with consideration, understanding and empathy. We recognise and value the culture, beliefs

and strengths of others. We work daily to create a sustainable environment.

Honesty

We foster open communication. We engage in transparent decision making. We conduct ourselves profession-

ally at all times.

Trust

We stand by our promises in the face of difficult challenges. We empower others to make decisions for them-

selves. We champion the protection of confidential information and others’ rights to privacy.

Excellence

We strive for perfection in all things. We push the boundaries of our expertise. We use innovation to take us be-

yond the call of duty.

Courage

We make tough decisions, and we stand by them. We promote our values despite the personal consequences.

We dare to attempt the bold, the new and the uncharted.

Our Logo

We believe that travel should be an inspiring experience for our guests, as symbolised through our vibrant logo:

.

Inspired by Margaret Smith's painting, Two Sisters, the logo represents the red earth and the sun, with the spi-

ralling stars of the night sky mimicking the shape of sails of the resort, culminating in the central meeting place.

4

Our Responsibilities:

Voyages is committed to nurturing and sharing Australia's sensitive eco and cultural destinations and also to

protecting them so that our guests might enjoy them for years to come. As we feel privileged to operate in re-

mote locations, it is critically important to us that we address local needs and concerns. We have therefore

made a commitment to work with local communities via:

Sustainable environmental tourism practice;

Respecting and supporting local cultures;

Offering employment and training.

Ownership:

Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Indigenous Land Corporation (ILC), a

statutory authority established in 1995 with the purpose of assisting Indigenous people with land acquisition and

land management to achieve economic, environmental, social and cultural benefits. Voyages was purchased in

2011 on behalf of Wana Ungkunytja which represents the business interests of the nearby communities of Muti-

julu, Imanpa and Docker River.

Our corporate Office

Our corporate office is located in the heart of Sydney’s CBD and is home to over 70 employees who support our

remote location operations. We have members of our Executive team based out of this office including Mr An-

drew Williams, our Chief Executive Officer.

This office is the headquarters for our Sales and Marketing team and you will also find Guest Experiences, Fi-

nance, IT, Legal, the Talent Team and the Voyages Travel Centre.

The Travel Centre has over 30 employees who ensure that the resorts bookings are kept up to date, promote

the tours and facilities on offer at the resort and are the first port of call for many people to experience one of the

Voyages Destinations.

5

Our Destinations

Mossman Gorge

Located in the southern part of the Daintree National Park, Mossman Gorge is one of the few places in the coun-

try that the visitors can gain an insight into the lives, culture and beliefs of Australia’s Indigenous population and

their connection to the natural environment, while at the same time enjoying an array of visually stunning sites.

Visitors are greeted by not only pristine rainforest, cool streams, towering mountains and the dramatic gorge, but

also a warm and friendly welcome from the local Kuku Yalanji people.

The new world class eco-tourism visitor’s centre was constructed in partnership with the Mossman Gorge Abo-

riginal community. The visitor centre will not only preserve the natural beauty of the environment, but also en-

hance the overall tourist experience. The Centre will provide a number of services and facilities such as a com-

fortable welcome area, contemporary café, well-stocked Indigenous art gallery and retail store, booking area for

Indigenous guided walks, extensive car and bus parking away from environmentally sensitive areas and an eco

friendly bus service to take visitors to and from the Gorge itself.

Home Valley Station

The Kimberley region within far north-western Australia has a wonderful history which continues today – from

the ancient civilisation of the Australian Indigenous people, to those European explorers who paved the way for

today's pastoral industry. Modern day diversification of these enormous land holdings has seen the development

of tourism and in Home Valley Station’s case, an on-site training academy and suitable employment designed

for Indigenous men and women from the area.

At Home Valley Station we pride ourselves on providing guests with the ultimate Australian outback experience.

Accommodation across the Station provides options for travellers of all preferences – from those who prefer

their rugged outback adventure with a twist of luxury to those seeking a more intimate experience.

Home Valley Station is an outback adventure playground of nature’s most breath taking combination of towering

gorges, sparkling waterholes, ever-flowing rivers, untouched beaches, billabongs, waterfalls and stunning an-

cient landforms and ranges. Our guests have the privilege of touring with knowledgeable guides who provide a

special insight in to the Kimberley landscape, flora and fauna.

A Taste of Our Dining

Tali Wiru

An intimate dining experience under the outback sky ‘Tali Wiru’, meaning beautiful dune in local Anangu lan-

guage, encapsulates the magic fine dining under the Southern Desert sky. Instead of walls, this open-air restau-

rant has magnificent views of Uluru and the distant domes of Kata Tjuta (The Olgas); for music there’s the still-

ness of the desert at night.

Relax with champagne and canapés around a fire-pit while you watch the sun set. As the day turns into night,

stroll to the top of the dune for a table d'hôte four-course dinner, matched with premium Australian wine. After

dinner, a local storyteller will captivate you with celestial creation stories. Tali Wiru is so much more than a din-

ing experience, it’s a night you will remember for the rest of your life.

Sounds of Silence

Entered into the Australian Tourism Hall of Fame, Sounds of Silence offers the best of the Red Centre distilled

into four magical hours. An evening of dining under the sparkling outback sky while a storyteller shares tales told

under the stars.

Your journey begins on a lone sand dune. A path takes you to an uninterrupted, 360 degree view of this vast

landscape. In front of you is the fabled Uluru; behind you are the domes of Kata Tjuta and possibly the most

spectacular sunset you have ever seen. Here you enjoy sparkling wine and a selection of delectable canapés.

As the sun sets you feast on a BBQ of authentic Australian delicacies such as barramundi, kangaroo, crocodile,

bush salads and classic desserts, complemented by Australian wines. Attention then turns to some of the worlds

best stargazing as our start talker takes you on a spectacular tour of the night sky. As you wind down after din-

ner you are offered a choice of tea, coffee or port.

Sounds of Silence is highly recommended and we encourage every visitor (and member of staff) who comes to

Voyages Ayers Rock Resort to join us for this unique event.

Desert Awakenings

Desert Awakenings is a much sought after experience that delivers insight into the ancient landscape, ecology,

culture, heritage, and history of what is now regarded as Australia's spiritual heartland.

Experience the tranquillity of the pre-dawn land under a canopy of stars. Watch the amazing transformation of

colours and life as the desert awakens with Uluru and Kata Tjuta as your backdrop. In the company of your ex-

pert guide and with no more than 15 other guests, Desert Awakenings is designed to introduce you to the natu-

ral and cultural landscapes of this remarkable region.

Things you should Remember...

Voyages Ayers Rock Resort is 450kms from Alice Springs (the nearest town) and therefore a long way

from many of the facilities that people take for granted. For example shopping, a pharmacy, entertainment

and theatre.

Due to the size and the scope of the Resort there are many opportunities for employees to gain additional

employment and cross training.

Most residents are able to save a good deal of money whilst living at Ayers Rock. Living costs are gener-

ally not as high as in a city and there are discounts and tax benefits to help you save.

Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia is committed to the training and development of its employees and

extensive training programmes are conducted regularly.

Most employees find it very easy to settle in, as the residents of Ayers Rock are very friendly and helpful.

Being in such a unique area filled with history and wildlife - enjoying the great outdoors and vast land-

scape is a popular past time with residents.

CLIMATE - A “dry” atmosphere with temperatures across the year varying from a hot 45°C in Summer

months (December - March) to a cool 19°C in winter months (and chilly nights down to as low as -2°C!).

Being a Resort with approximately 750 residents, people find that they live and work together, which can

at times be restrictive on your personal privacy.

Summer months can be an interesting time within the Resort, with the extremes in temperature and the

influx of insects and interesting wildlife. Due to the natural environment that the Resort is situated in, we

are subject to a variety of creepy crawley fauna, i.e. snakes, spiders, etc. however don’t be alarmed! All

you need is a little common sense.

All in all, Ayers Rock Resort is a great place to live. Where else can boast no pollution, and no traffic (well

we do have a roundabout) while offering a great lifestyle!
