• 4/17/2003 magnitude 4.7 earthquake occurred 74.4 miles away from city center

• 3/7/2000 magnitude 4.3 earthquake occurred 18.9 miles away from city center

• 6/30/1999 magnitue 3.7 earthquake occurred 8.8 miles away from Cottonwood center

• 3/16/1992 magnitude 4.4 earthquake occurred 18.9 miles away from Cottonwood Center

One stronger earthquake would slide this house right down the side of the hill

• “Close to 150 million people in 39 US states live in seismically active areas.”

What can I do?

• If you live in a seismically active area, a home safety check could increase the probability that you and your property survive a large earthquake.

• Most importantly plan exactly what you and your family should do in the event of an earthquake.

• And if you live in any of the houses I posted MOVE!!!
