    BENEFITS OR DISADVANTAGES AND NEGATIVE IMPACTS: The presentation is for Council and the public’s information. A report will follow at theSpecial Council meeting requiring Council decision.

    LEGISLATIVE IMPACTS, PRECEDENTS AND POLICIES:It is within Council mandate and authority to hear this reading.

    COSTS AND BUDGET IMPACT - REVENUE GENERATION:  There are no costs associated with hearing the presentation.

    Create multi use event space. The market is only active25 days a year. The facility is designed to accommodate amultiplicity of events such as markets, concerts, weddings,group picnics, trade shows, theater, festivals, Etc. To achievethis the new design incorporates the following:

    • Market stalls• A Plaza• A Bandshell• 2 BBQ spots w/ water and sinks• Lockable storage / sound booth• Covered pedestrian circulation• Vehicle circulation• Washrooms

    Design Attributes:

    • Flexible and open design - this allows for multiplicity of useand allows light in while discouraging habitation when not inuse.• Showcase project - wood first, local and value addedinnovative wood products that have garnered industrysupport.• Fits within the park and Railtown planning• Scalable, allowing for phasing as necessary• Upturned roof edges reference Japanese Architecture.
