What is the 1st thing candidates check

to learn more about you, after receiving

a call, a voice mail, an email or seeing

your InMail?

Answer:

1. Google

2. LinkedIn

3. Company Profile

10

I don’t know who you are

I don’t know your company

I don’t know anyone who works at

your company

I don’t know about your open

positions

I don’t know what you can do for

my career

And you eventually want me to

make one the most difficult

decisions of my life?

Your Challenge

1. What is your goal? Who is your audience? One size does not fit all

Use your profile to hire

(not just to get hired)

Keep your audience in

mind

2. Let the real you shineDon’t publish a resume full of business platitudes

Be personable and authentic.

You are a human being. Not a resume. Add a picture.

Invest most time in your

1. headline

2. summary

3. what you do at your firm

I combine high level sourcing with an outstanding candidate experience allthe way to the final offer. At the moment, I am looking for the topprocurement and safety professionals to help continue MLA's goal to be theworlds most customer centric company.

Display pride and enthusiasm You will accelerate these people’s careers: be proud! Promote your company’s achievements, culture

and careers.

Help candidates be better informed

3. Get recommended by people you hired: You did them a favor: they owe you one

A few will do

Make them hit on different points

InMail Best Practices

Consider your first message to be a conversation starter.

Adopt a conversational, enthusiastic tone to your message.

Be brief and to the point.

Focus on finding out their availability/interest in a new job or networking opportunity.

DO NOT cut and paste the job description or URL to the job post.

Ask for advice/opinions/referrals giving them a compelling reason to reply.

25

Tips for Growing Your Network

• Invite contacts using their email address

• Invite contacts you have been educated or worked with by

stating how you know them

• Use the Outlook toolbar or other address books to

validate and invite multiple users

BE CAREFUL!!!

– If you invite strangers to join your network and nine

people respond that they do not know you, you will not

be allowed to use this invite mechanism in the future
