Lemonade Day is a free, fun, experiential learning program that teaches youth how to start, own and operate their own business – a lemonade stand. It began with a vision to change Salem into a place that breeds, grows and attracts entrepreneurs. Each child that registers receives a backpack with an Entrepreneur Workbook that teaches them the 14 lessons of Lemonade Day like creating budgets, setting profit-making goals, serving customers, repaying investors, and giving back to the community. Along the way, they acquire skills in goal-setting, problem solving, and gain self-esteem critical for future success. They keep all the money they make and are encouraged to spend some, save some and share some.

About the EventWelcome to Lemonade Day where we are changing the trajectory of Northwest Oregon and our country, one lemonade stand at a time by teaching kids to start, own, and operate their very own business.

America was built on the back of small businesses. Entrepreneurs take risks believing that they can accomplish their dreams if they work hard, take responsibility, and act as good stewards of their resources. Today’s youth share that optimism, but lack the life skills, mentorship, and real-world experience necessary to be successful. Lemonade Day is a FREE, step-by-step program that walks youth from a dream to a business plan, while teaching them the principles required to start and run their own company... a lemonade stand. Inspiring kids to work hard and make a profit, Lemonade Day also teaches them to spend some, save some, and share some by giving back to their community.

Launched in Houston, Texas in 2007, Lemonade Day has grown from 2,700 kids in one city to 202,000 kids in 36 cities across America and Canada. With the help of partners like Google, Lemonade Day will bring this entrepreneurial experience to 1 million kids in 100 cities across America, sparking entrepreneurship and empowering youth in a way that’s never been done to scale.

In 2014, Lemonade Day Salem broke national records with over 1,000 participants who sold $30,000 worth of lemonade and donated $10,000 of that to charity.
