Hannah Woodward Performing Arts teacher LEADERS NEWS Have you booked your Quiz night ticket yet? Our friend-raiser is a lovely initiative from a small group of staff and parents who decided it would be a good idea for our EPS community to get together to meet and have fun. There are still spaces for singles or couples to join an existing table, or room for a table of 10 if you haven’t yet made up your mind. The idea came from Emma Sweet, Kate Bishop, Sarah Service and Tania Crowley who met as young mums at EPS and want others to do the same. Helena, Judy and Jen have joined in the planning and Steve from 102.3FM will MC the night. 30 of our staff have signed up for 3 tables so come along next Friday 16 th and have a laugh away from your kids. I’m told there are great prizes, and it’s BYO drinks and supper. Don’t forget plenty of gold coins for games, and an option to have a table theme. Ring or email Judy at the school to hear more. See you there! The following Friday, 23 rd August we do it all again for the students this time. Vicky and the SRC have secured our popular DJ Jorde, otherwise known as Mr Wallis, for our annual school disco. Details have been circulating and it will culminate a busy Book week. This term your student has been set a short-term goal for Literacy and Numeracy. Our focus is on commitment to learning, and after discussion with many parents reading Report cards, we understand it helps at home to know how you can support your child. Teachers send home Seesaw or emails outlining the term’s plans, and every child should be able to tell you what they have committed to learn in the next 6 weeks. Pupil free day will be spent determining how effective we have been in making a difference! Together with self-managing learning accessing teacher support, we have high expectations of student behaviour at EPS. This includes following school rules, wearing appropriate uniform, and showing respect to everyone. There have been several incidents of poor choice in behaviour last term, and we are all committed to implement our golden rule of “treat others as you would like them to treat you” across our school. Classroom teachers are reinforcing this expectation in classrooms, and staff are vigilant on yard duty to ensure all children feel safe. Our leadership team of Vicky, Shane and myself, along with teachers, spend many hours a week mentoring and restoring relationships between students. Recess and lunch times are ideal learning times for students about getting along and forming life time friendships. Your support at home is always appreciated. A final request - our staff numbers have grown as well as our students, and carpark space is essential for Staff. Please do not use the staff car park as a collection point for students. It is a dangerous practice. They were ordered through Pierre Corbion, an EPS parent, from Eustralis food wholesalers.

SAPSASA NEWS SAPSASA YEAR 6/7 BOYS I am so very proud of the team-up against the odds-they did really well. Credit goes to our team consisting of James, Jensen, Finn, Xavier, Jackson, Max, Jaxon, Oliver, James and Jesse for playing hard when up against some of the best teams in the competition. We played all our games on Court 2 at Pasadena. Out of the 5 games played, we won 1 game against Goodwood, lost the other 3 games, by 1 point to Norwood, Cabra and St. Francis de Sales, and 2 points to Goodwood, which is a terrific effort. By the end of the day, a great experience was had by all, including the coach. The team have great attitudes, which will ensure we will be a force to be reckoned with next year. Well done by all. There was amazing support from the parents. A big thanks also to the scorers, transporters and to Mr. Radias. Vanitha – coach

SAPSASA YEAR 6/7 GIRLS The girls team all played amazingly, and we had a great day. Since I have been coaching (which is a few years) this year was our best result. We didn’t win every game and didn’t quite get to the finals, but played really well. We came up against lots of different schools which was a great experience. Good job girls! Tash
