Superb Blueberry Cake With Vanilla Butter Sauce

What You Need1/4 c butter, softened1/2 c sugar2 large eggs, beaten1 c flour1 tsp baking powder1/4 c milk1 1/2 c fresh or frozen blueberries
FOR THE SAUCE:1/4 c butter, softened1/2 c sugar1 large egg yolk, well beaten1/4 c boiling water1 tsp vanilla
Directions• Cream butter and sugar;
stir in eggs.
Blueberry Cake w/Vanilla Butter Sauce
• Sift flour and baking powder together.
• Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beating well.
• Coat blueberries with a small amount of additional flour (to assure even distribution of berries in cake); fold into batter.
• Pour into lightly greased 8- or 9-inch square pan.
• Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Cut into squares.
• To prepare sauce, cream butter and sugar in top of double boiler.
• Blend in egg yolk and boiling water.
• Cook over hot water until mixture thickens; stirring frequently.
• Stir in vanilla.• Spoon hot sauce over cake.
