Lin Oosterhoff CONESTOGA COLLEGE Information Design KYKLOS Design Thesis (logo, information graphics and motion design) Project Rationale KYKLOS is a graphic visualization of weather. The name Kyklos is Greek for orb and circle and cycle, which perfectly embodies the weather. It is an ever going phenomenon that effects our lives every day. Over the course of 4 months (November 2014-February 2014), I took the weather daily and created an information graphic with the collected data. The graphics are a stylized representation of that particular days weather and feature all weather related components. (Pressure, humidity, viability, temperature etc.) The design of the graphics is a minimalistic and almost artistic approach to todays weather. The graph uses a minimal colour palette of black and gray with a teal accent colour to offset the black and give the graph a refreshed look that relates to the weather. All 120 graphics together are meant to create an artistic as well as informative poster. The objective of this design thesis was to create your own project, self direct all components and explore conceptual and practical applications of a graphic design to create a successful end result.
