INTRODUCTION

Montessori Kinderworld is the brand name of a chain of model pre-schools run by the Nepal Montessori Training Centre (NMTC). The Montessori Kinderworld was founded in 2002 and currently operates five Branches. Montessori Kinderworld is Nepal’s first and largest Montessori Pre-school. At present there are more than 700 children ages beginning from 2 years until they are ready for primary school. After the establishment of the NMTC it was strongly felt that its trainees as well as the people interested to work in the early childhood education needed a place where they could practically observe the theories of child center education in reality.  Therefore the NMTC started a chain of model pre-schools with a brand name of Montessori Kinderworld in 2002 with the following goals:

1. To provide and introduce the culture of early childhood education based on Montessori principles and philosophy.

2. To respect and integrate Nepali culture and value while still being very much Montessorian in its core approach.

3. To provide education to the children of early childhood years and to help them grow into a fine human being having a good  balance in physical, social, emotional and intellectual development.

4. To help the children develop independence and deep self esteem by providing safe and stimulating child friendly environment.

5. To give a strong all rounded pre-school foundation to its students so that they will have smooth and successful transition into  primary education.

6. To educate and help its school parents about Montessori principle of parenting.7. To establish and develop Montessori Kinderworld as a model early childhood education centre in different

communities.

HOW TO PREPARE A FRIENDLY ENVIRNOMENT FOR TODDLER ?The environment of all our pre-schools is based on the principle of ‘Help me to do by myself’. Therefore everything is prepared to help the child’s independence and confidence. All the furniture is child size to help to develop children’s independence and self esteem.

All the toys and the learning materials are displayed neatly in low shelves so that the child can reach them easily.

Our procedures and rooms are designed to encourage health, independence and good habits. We design our kinks and bathrooms in such a way that children can use them as needed, without adult intervention.

Child-sized sinks and bathrooms are always available to the children as we require hand washing before eating, after bathroom visits and at other appropriate times to encourage good personal habits.

Our program strikes a balance between the nurturing care children received as infants and toddlers and the growing structure and independence that will define their school years. Each quarter, children work with more challenging concepts all geared up for higher learning. At the end of the 4yrs of pre-school experience and training our children will be ready with all the skills and knowledge to excel in primary level of schooling. Although there are mainly four age groups, children are given plenty of opportunities to be in mixed aged environment for better social and intellectual group, a principal true to Montessori.

CHILDREN FRIENDLY TEACHING METHOD

Our method is based on educational theories. As ‘the hands are the tools of men’s intelligence’ children are taught new concepts with concrete manipulative teaching materials. These concepts are presented to the children as a process to fit into the whole cycle of learning.

They have fun with languages phonics, reading and journal writing, they learn about basic math and science concepts, and they explore their creativity through drama, play and the creative arts. All our Montessori apparatus are imported. They are manufactured by the world leading educational material manufacturer.

Each day is filled with songs, games and other fun-filled activities. All the children learn about science, music and art through hands-on projects and theme based activities according to their age group. Monthly themes, weekly topics and daily activities keep the curriculum focused and fun.

Our projects in Nepal study, History, Geography, Botany, Zoology etc. are some of learning hands-on activities that many schools want to learn and introduce to their students. Each year the NMTC develops such new projects for the children of Montessori Kinderworld to meet the growing and changing demand of the world so that our children have all the required basic knowledge and skills to be successful in future.

WE BELIEVE

1.The goal of early childhood education is to help the child’s spontaneous all round  development and cultivate the love of learning.2.Children develop themselves for which the adults’ duty is to provide them a conducive and safe environment for learning and exploring.3.Early childhood years are the best period for laying all the foundation of intellectual, social, emotional and physical pattern of behaviours.4.With the right kind of environment and training children can develop a high quality of independence, concentration, co-ordination, patience, order and self-esteem among themselves.5.As the body of the child needs food to grow up so is the mind to be able to compare, contrast, distinguish and differentiate.
