Today we welcome the players, officials and supporters from traditional rivals the Marconi Stallions to Seymour Shaw in what is a most important fixture for both teams. Despite an unbeaten run of 11 games straight the Sharks still find themselves outside the final 5 to contest the Championship series. A win tonight will go a long way to help in achieving this goal. Too may draws (7 so far) have restricted our climb up the table. Last weeks 5-0 win against fifth placed Manly continued the rich vein of form the Sharks are in. The week before this we had a 1-1 draw against Sydney United in a game where we conceded in the 90th minute after Charles Lokolingoy was shown a red card which will see him miss three games. Despite this the Sharks still bared their teeth with Jeremy Cox, JJ Morfitis and Bai Antoniou leading the way and midfielders Raul Beneit, Matteo Poljack and Jerry Skotadis all chiming in with classy goals.
The under 20’s had an exciting win last week with a last gasp winner in the 90th minute by James Temelkovski in defeating Manly 3-2. Temelkovski scored all three with some clinical finishing. This win projected them in to major semi-fial contention. Strong performances from James Carli, Harry Sutherland and Charlie Jones and the tireless work from Tom Papa laid the ground work for the victory.
The under 18’s bounced back to form to win 2-1 making it a clean sweep for all our senior teams. The win keeps their semi final hopes alive.
The half time entertainment tonight is provided by the under 9 association teams from Sylvania Heights, Bangor, Bundeena and Miranda,
Let’ s hope the unbeaten run continues !!!

MATCH PREVIEWThe incredible late season run of Sutherland Sharks will be tested on Saturday as they take on Marconi Stallions at Seymour Shaw Park.
The Sharks are only one point outside the top five and a possible playoff spot and have gone their past nine game undefeated including three wins from their past five.
It is a spectacular turnaround from the Sutherland Shire based team who incredibly went ten games without a win to start the season.
Coach Terry Palapanis has the team firing on all cylinders and that was none more obvious than last week’s 5-0 away win against Manly United.
What would’ve been most satisfying for Palapanis from the result is the performance of the club’s veterans with Raul Romero and Mateo Poljak both contributing goals.
They will be needed to put in other big showing this week to get past a driven Marconi outfit.
Another player that stood out was former Sky Blues midfielder Jerry Skotadis.
He was everywhere against Manly United, and come Saturday, will be a marked man.
The Stallions have had a disappointing season but still hold their finals hopes in their hands.
A hard fought scoreless draw after being reduced to ten-men demonstrated a resolve many would’ve felt didn’t exist in Marconi’s star studded outfit.
As a result of the red card last week, Marconi will be without influential attacker Mitchell Mallia this week which will force a reshuffle in attack.
The result of this match could play a huge part in deciding the finals fate of either team with only five games left in the regular season.
Expect a game where everything is put on the line in chase of victory.

1ST GRADE REVIEWS
Manly United 0 – Sutherland Sharks 5 at Cromer Park
The Sutherland Sharks cruised to a 5-0 demolition job of a ten-man Manly United outfit at Cromer Park on Sunday afternoon.
The hosts were shocked by a straight red card shown to defensive linchpin Travis Oughtred just six minutes in, which brought rise to a significantly one-sided contest.
Raul Romero converted the ensuing penalty, before a delightful Mateo Poljak chip and fierce Jeremy Cox drive put the visitors well and truly in the ascendancy by the interval.
Despite the numerical disparity, Paul Dee’s men forged some golden opportunities throughout the first period that could have added some additional spice to the contest.
However, their failure to convert resulted in a rather tame second period where Sutherland eventually compounded Manly’s misery courtesy of tidy strikes from Jerry Skotadis and Romero.
The emphatic result secured a crucial three points for Sutherland in the ever-intensifying race for the top five.
Sydney United 58 0 – Marconi Stallions 0 at Sydney United Sports Centre
A gutsy 10-man Marconi Stallions has clung on to claim a 0-0 draw against Sydney United 58 at Sydney United Sports Centre on Sunday.
Reduced to 10 men on the cusp of half-time, the stallions dug in to stem the tide of a relentless United attack and snatch a vital point against the odds.
The home side had chance after chance to find a winner but lacked the finishing touch required to break the deadlock.
It was a result which keeps Marconi in the finals race while for United 58 it was yet another opportunity lost.

U20’S MATCH PREVIEW
Sutherland Sharks return to Seymour Shaw on Sunday afternoon for a critical match against Marconi Stallions, with each side separated by five points in fourth and seventh places respectively.
The Sharks can thank James Temelkovski for claiming a more secure spot among the top five, with a three-point gap down to sixth after Sutherland’s 3-2 win over Manly last weekend. Temelkovski’s hattrick at Cromer Park has given his side a small margin for error as they turn to the final run-in, with matches against Sydney FC and Rockdale to come.
Marconi, for their part, travel south on the back of a 1-0 defeat of Sydney United in Round 17, a result which has helped keep the Stallions in finals contention for at least another week.
Both sides come into this match in near identical form, having won three of their last five matches, including the last two in a row. Sutherland won 2-0 when they travelled to Marconi Stadium earlier in the season.
