JUNE 20 20 Page 3
From the President’s Pen... Hello FASA members and friends,
Oh, how nice it would be to have a FASA meeting and be with friends and fellow FASA members again. I genuinely enjoy all of you as well as the mu-sic and dancing. Please be assured that the FASA Board is still working hard to maintain the club, work with the DJs, and keep good rapport with the Elks Lodge. I am lucky to have such great people on the FASA board of Directors to work with me.
We have had contact and virtual board meetings to stay in line with the mandates from Raleigh while following the ACSC and taking the lead in some cases to help protect our friends and club members. The decision to suspend all our meetings and parties until the first day of August was what the board felt we had to do to protect the safety of our members and future of FASA. Several things were considered including the risk factor of our members, liability of the club, and the cost of hav-
ing a party with exceptionally low attendance.
We will be back in action again, but we have to stay within the guidelines and be as safe as we can.
I will add just a line on the brighter side. On May 10th, my mother suffered a severe heart attack. Through the grace of God and so many prayers I cannot count she is at home and doing quiet well. More prayers are needed as she continues to improve.
Keep the music alive and work on a new step.
I will see you soon Dwight
Andy Privette Celebrates His Mom’s 100th! FASA Member Andy Privette’s mother celebrated her 100th birthday on May 12th. Sons Andy and Bill and other family members celebrated this special occasion with a front porch party at Heritage Place. Attending were spouses, kids, grandkids and great grandkids. They all enjoyed cake and home-made ice cream.
Mrs. Lena Privette was born at home in Cooleemee, NC. She began her working ca-reer at a cotton mill. During World War II she moved to California to work at an Army hospital. She was also a homemaker, chauf-feur, Boy Scout Den Mother, hospital clerk and also worked for H&R Block.
She credits drinking milk straight from the milk bucket and 20 years of gardening and yard maintenance at Lake Norman for the ex-tra years she’s been given. Her son Andy, credits her stubbornness.
