This summer choose water for Better Health! Rethink Your Drink to Refresh Better because water is essential for your health and is the perfect way to hydrate. There are many ways to enjoy your water! Most sodas, sports drinks and energy drinks contain added sugar which increases extra calories in your diet. With the high rate of obesity, hypertension & type 2 diabetes in California communities, the Chronic Disease Prevention Program wants to encourage you to Be Better by making healthier choices.

In Ventura County, 39% of children drink one or more sugar sweetened beverages daily* as compared to 14.3% of adults**. But the biggest concern is with adolescents (12 to 17 year olds) statewide. They were the largest consumers of sugar sweetened beverages at 65%***.

Drinking water is one of the best ways you can improve your health and the health of your family. Our bodies are mostly water, and staying hydrated helps all other systems in your body work better.
