As the term started, Hahgoot’s BJE studies resumed.

The first unit was about Shabbat. Hahgoot enjoyed learning about the various

rituals and symbols.

In her Hebrew studies she is not negative about crossword puzzles any longer and was OK with

writing stories.

On the right: writing a story about a sad man in the classroom, that wants to eat a mountain of ice

cream and it all ends well...

She reads in Hebrew very well, fluent and fast with the vowels and I have

been trying for months to convince her to read

without them (the next reading level), but she

was as usual, negative. At last I managed to

“trick” her into reading without the dots by using

the wildly funny “Monsters

Encyclopaedia” by talented Danny Kerman. She was happy to draw

her own, of course!

Following the complex friendship issues she had last term, we started reading and doing the

activities in “A smart girl’s guide to friendship troubles” from the

“American Girl” series.

She loves it and is highly interested, which is fantastic.

Just for fun I got her a very thick Captain Underpants workbook, packed with stickers, games, and tutorials on how to write your own silly adventures

and draw “flip-o-rama” cartoons.

Bottom right: Hahgoot is very concerned about healthy eating and decided to write a kids’ guide to eating well.

Hahgoot experimented with the many different shades of red, green and blue she

can make (following a Pilon activity).

Following another Pilon magazine activity, she used Joofy as an

object to learn about abstraction.

Tough exercise!

One more Pilon activity:

She made a doll with pop up parts, so she could draw what she was thinking about and what was

in her pocket.

Hahgoot is still very negative about using the Pilon magazines, though she always enjoys the

activity at the end...

Hahgoot used her weird face stickers to make some odd creations...
