Digitisation, digitalisation and digital transformation are three terms we use since many years but often in the wrong sense.
Digitisation: creating a digital (bits and bytes) version of analog/physical things such as paper documents, microfilm images, photographs, sounds etc.. Digitalisation / Digital Transformation: means turning interactions, communications, business functions and business processes into digital ones

The Reality: IPCSA Blockchain Bill of Lading Initiative
Harnessing the strength of Community Systems, this Blockchain initiative allows SME’s to send traditional messaging or web services where the PCS’s become the first Block and last block in the chain. Thus giving access to SME’s new technology without having to directly implement themselves. The PCS already being the trusted third party in the chain.
• 37 members operating in 40 Countries.
• 1 million + users (many Small and medium sized users)
• Estimated 30m electronic messages a day
• Members currently handle the exchange of information for over 100 air and sea ports, this equates to over 400m TEU and 8bn tonnes of cargo
• Covers 70-80% of EU Mairtime Trade
