Drishti’s research with A.T. Kearney shows that 72 percent of manufacturing tasks are performed by human operators, and that humans introduce 68 percent of the defects.

Unfortunately, methodologies for quantifying and improving human performance haven’t materially changed in the 100 years since Henry Ford. No wonder manufacturers obsess about automation and robotics: There’s a massive information gap that leaves them unable to optimize human processes at scale.

What is our technology?

Drishti’s breakthrough technology is called “action recognition.” It’s capable of digitizing tasks by humans – despite all the variability that a human demonstrates – and turning these activities into data. Powered by proprietary deep learning-based neural networks, action recognition is far more complex than object recognition, in the same way that parsing a complex spoken sentence is harder than translating a single written word at a time.
