Riverhead Men at Annual Convention For the past two weekends the six East Hampton Boys Scouts who have been chosen to attend the Na- tional Boy Scout Jamboree which opens at Valley Forge . June 20 , have been taking part in " shake- down " camps at the Suffolk Coun- ty Boy Scout Camp at Baiting Hol- low. At these practice camps at Bait- ing Hollow , the six East Hampton Scouts , Robert Card and Clarence Blowe of Troop 102 and Robert Aniann , Robert Taylor , Richard Worthington and Allan Meddaugh of Troop 27 , all first class Scouts , and Herbert Eggort and Martin Robinson of Southampton , were formed into a patrol which will be part of the Suffolk County Troop of handpicked Boy Scouts. Allan Meddaugh has been picked as pa- trol leader. Several paper drives conducted by the Scouts this past Spring have helped raise the $60 per boy which paid for their week-ends at Baiting Hollow and will cover costs of tents , transportation from Smith- town to Valley Forge , and insur- ance and food for the week\s Jam- boree. The boys will do their own patrol cooking and furnish their special individual camping uniform and equipment. At a combined meeting of Troops 27 and 102 on Monday evening at the Scout House a representative from each of East Hampton' s Girl Scout troops presented each of the boys attending the Jamboree with a Jamboree "T" shirt and toilet kit. In addition , the boys have decorat- ed their two man tents with wind- mills and an outline map of Long Island locating Rust Hampton. This was done with blue , yellow and black paint and an air brush , under the direction of H S art instructor , Mrs R.aymond MeMahon. Also in preparation for Valley Forge the boys , with the assistance of Troop 27 Scoutmaster Amassa Brooks and Harold P Taylor , have made a three-burner charcoal stove , while with the hel p of Victor Anian n and Charles Lloyd they have built a plywood patrol chest, which holds all the patrol equip- ment and doubles as a work table. The boys' parents have not only assisted with innumerable details in connection with assembling the : Scouts ' equipment , but have also taken over transportation to and i from special meetings at Riverhead ' and tho camps at Baiting Hollow . j In addition to the six Scouts who . will attend the National Valley I Forge Jamboree 30 Scouts from Troop 102 and 18 from Troop 27 will attend the .Summer camp at Bait- ing Hollow in July. Riverhead Men atAnnual Convention

For the past two weekends thesix East Hampton Boys Scouts whohave been chosen to attend the Na-tional Boy Scout Jamboree whichopens at Valley Forge. June 20,have been taking part in "shake-down" camps at the Suffolk Coun-ty Boy Scout Camp at Baiting Hol-low.

At these practice camps at Bait-ing Hollow , the six East HamptonScouts, Robert Card and ClarenceBlowe of Troop 102 and RobertAniann , Robert Taylor , RichardWorthington and Allan Meddaughof Troop 27, all first class Scouts ,and Herbert Eggort and Mart inRobinson of Southampton , wereformed into a patrol which will bepart of the Suffolk County Troopof handpicked Boy Scouts. AllanMeddaugh has been picked as pa-trol leader.

Several paper drives conductedby the Scouts this past Spring havehelped raise the $60 per boy whichpaid for their week-ends at Bai t ingHollow and will cover costs oftents, transportation from Smith-town to Valley Forge, and insur-ance and food for the week\s Jam-boree. The boys will do their ownpatrol cooking and furnish theirspecial ind iv idua l camping uniformand equipment.

At a combined meeting of Troops27 and 102 on Monday evening atthe Scout House a representativefrom each of East Hampton's GirlScout troops presented each of theboys a t tending the Jamboree witha Jamboree "T" shirt and toilet kit .In addition , the boys have decorat-ed their two man tents with wind-mills and an outline map of LongIsland locating Rust Hampton.This was done wi th blue , yellow andblack paint and an air brush , underthe direction of H S art instructor ,Mrs R.aymond MeMahon.

Also in preparation for ValleyForge the boys, with the assistanceof Troop 27 Scoutmaster AmassaBrooks and Harold P Taylor , havemade a three-burner charcoal stove,whi le with the hel p of VictorAniann and Charles Lloyd theyhave bui l t a plywood patrol chest,which holds all the patrol equip-ment and doubles as a work table .The boys' parents have not onlyassisted with innumerable deta i lsin connection wi th assembling the

The last two months we have notbeen having regular meetings of the4-H because of measles.

The seniors held their last meet-ing on June 12th at Mrs Tuthill 's.The Juniors met on June 13th atCarol Cain's. We learned to makedarts , french seams and .soft pleats.For homework we have to put onour pockets, and make all of theFrench seams.

We are happy to have anothersewing leader for the Seniors. Hername is Irene Sarnowski.

The last meeting was held onJune 27th. The Seniors meet at MrsTuthills and the Juniors at CarolCain 's.
