  • PREFACE FROM THE DIRECTOR

National Institute of Technical Teachers' Training and Research (NITTTR), Bhopal, established in 1965, has the vision to be a world class leader for comprehensive development of technical education and technical teachers training systems. With a mission to be the change agent, over the years, it has made innovations and reforms in the technical education system through research, training, development, dissemination and facilitation. In tune with the global needs, the institute has already introduced outcome-based interventions for technical education system and in teacher training in the western region.

NITTTR Bhopal offers need-based technical teachers training programmes every year based on training need analysis conducted and the felt needs of its stakeholders. The training programmes given in this calendar are based on the training needs assessment carried out in all the states of western region, recent developmental trends in the country and feedback of participants of previous training programmes. During April 2019 to March 2020, the institute plans to conduct more than 76 training programme of two-week duration and more than 178 training programmes of one week duration in which approximately 6000 participants are expected to be trained. As in the past year, certain project related programmes have also been included this year in the calendar that is totally need-based and for the identified clientele. This Annual Training Calendar has the details of the training schedules, regulations and procedures for application, registration, assessment and other details related to participation in the various programmes. Like every year, during 2019-20, 254 inter-disciplinary, subject-specific, state-specific training programmes are planned.

A stakeholders meeting was also conducted in NITTTR, Bhopal on 6th August 2018 and feedback from the stakeholders were received. Last year online system of application for participation in a specific training programme was implemented in order to optimise the NITTTR Bhopal resources to better serve the states and institutes. The same system will be effectively implemented in the year 2019-20. All the states, institutions and faculty members are requested to follow the online system of NITTTR, Bhopal. Participation in any training programme will be through invitation from training programme coordinator only. So application for attending training programmes will not be accepted through any other mode.

All the training programmes offered in the year 2019-20 are planned to be activity-based and all the participants are expected to maintain their portfolio of learning outcomes. There will be pre and post-test to measure the impact of the training programmes. NITTTR Bhopal will issue the certificate to only those participants who have attended all the sessions during the programme, created a portfolio up to pre-defined level and successfully qualified in the post-test.

The Registration for the Training programmes is made online. To ensure the participation Rs 2000.00 refundable fee will be charged from the participants for confirming the participation. This fee will be refunded to participants on attending the training programme.

The institute has undertaken a project on Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) in the area of technical teacher education sponsored by MHRD under SWAYAM Platform. All the faculty members of technical institutions are requested to register for these programmes also.

We hope that all states and technical institutions would avail the opportunity this year with added vigor to improve the quality of technical work force in the country.

    Director, NITTTR Bhopal
