INTRODUCTION

Ballari Institute of Technology & Management (BITM), Bellary was started under the aegis of T.E.H.R.D. Trust,

Bellary in the year 1997. The Institution is recognized by Govt. of Karnataka, approved by AICTE, New Delhi

and affiliated to Visveswaraya Technological University, Belgaum.

BITM has many benchmarking activities to its credit. It has received ISO 9001:2008 Certification from IM

Moody International Agency. Shortly, the college is in the process of procuring National Board of Accreditation

(NBA). Average cutoff rank for CSE/ISE/ECE is 9000.

Number of faculty members with Ph.D., is 12.

Average teaching experience of the faculty is 8.5 Years.

Infrastructure:The institute is located in a campus extending over 11.00 acres amidst picturesque surroundings, experienced

faculty, a well stocked library & spacious lecture halls make for a congenial academic environment.

All the departments have well equipped laboratories and workshop facilities. The central computing facilityequipped with state-of-the-art computers, peripherals and 2 MBPS leased line internet facility.

In addition, there are number of other facilities, which is been provided for the welfare of the students, sports &

games facilities with indoor and outdoor play ground.

Faculty & Students:

The institute has 130 well qualified, committed and motivated faculty members across Ten Departments. 07faculty members have already received their Ph.D. from reputed universities and more than 20 members have

registered for their Research Programme. The primary mission of the institute is to educate the students and to

discover and disseminate knowledge through research.

A unique teacher guardian scheme is implemented, where each student is monitored by the teacher and feed

back by students on faculty.

helps in improvement of the skill-set of the students to prepare for corporate

CAMPUS CONNECT

The College has signed MOU with Infosys and has establishedcampus connect program. Industry-Institute interaction is the main

aim to survive in the intense competition in technological era.

Campus connect is a program run in association with Infosys

Technologies Ltd. It is a certified course on Foundational

Computer Science Courses - An Industry Perspective. It includes

the training on Generic stream courses, which is essential for all therecruited students in any software industry. The duration of this

course is 100 hours, which includes 08 courses.

Benefits:1. Student is made industry ready with generic stream courses.

2. Non-IT students are given special coaching to be in line with CSE/ ISE students.

3. Student can access the portal of Infosys Technologies Ltd., to download projects, other courses, recent

trends in software and Infosys News Bulletin.4. Certificate is issued jointly by Infosys Technologies Ltd & Ballari Institute of Technology & Management,

Bellary after completion of the Course.

INFOSYS SOFT SKILLS

BITM takes pride in saying that we have implemented Infosys Soft

Skills program to the students. Presently, we are running this

program for Fifth Semester students of all the branches, so that thestudents will improve the communication Skills, Team Work, Group

Discussion, Decision Making, Presentation and Adopting to corporate

life. Students are showing great enthusiasm wherein the session goes

with full fun and learning. Atmosphere is created wherein studentsgenerate ideas, share information, etc.,

e-Campus:

College has well established Internet Lab specially designed for students,which is kept open during the college hours. The internet lab is well

equipped with Thin-Client Computer Systems which are connected to 2

Mbps Lease Line. All departments in the college are connected to internet

via a 2 Mbps Broadband Connection with Wi-Fi facility.

We are proud to introduce e-campus facility for the benefit of Parents andStudents, which brings close co-ordination among students, faculty &

administration. The performance of the students and attendance status can

be viewed by the parents on the internet. The other benefit of this facility is access of bulk SMS and mail service,

Campus announcement and notifications.

TRAINING & PLACEMENT:Training and placement activity is an important part in the life of student.

The training and placement officer is responsible for training andplacement of the students. The staff and coordinators of various disciplines

handle all placement activities on the campus. Continuous tracked efforts

of T.P.O. have resulted in increasing placement of the students every year.

The college organizes Lectures / Seminars of well-known professionals

and Industrial Experts regularly to develop overall personality of studentswhich helps them for preparation of Interviews. In addition Group

Discussions and Personal Interviews are also been carried out.
