What have we been working on previously?

Page 3: Intro to 3D modeling a human

What were the problems you encountered modeling your room?

Page 4: Intro to 3D modeling a human

What was the most complex thing to model?

Page 5: Intro to 3D modeling a human

Today you will begin to learn how to create more complex 3d models.

You will learn how to create a low poly human model using a reference image.

Why do you need to know how to model people?

Page 7: Intro to 3D modeling a human

3D models are made of polygons or faces, which help the computer to understand their shape & how to display them

Page 8: Intro to 3D modeling a human

The more polygons or faces a model has, the slower the game will run.

This is why 3D modelers are always trying to make models with the least amount of faces or polygons.

We call these models ‘low poly’.

In todays tutorial you will learn: 1. how to use reference images to help guide your modeling.

In todays tutorial you will learn:

2. how to create a simple low poly human model (called a basemesh)

BY THE END OF THIS LESSON, YOU;•MUST understand what low-polygon

modeling is

•SHOULD apply modeling techniques to create a human basemesh

•COULD experiment with modeling tools and techniques to create complex fingers on your model.

Task 1•Working alone watch the tutorial and then

follow the instructions to create your own 3D basemesh.

Page 13: Intro to 3D modeling a human

Task 2•How would you model the fingers? Think

about the modeling techniques you have previously learnt and apply these to create fingers on your models hands.
