Here the conversations between both of us,

Q: what type work you do here?

A: I usually work here to wash the dishes of all the customers come here to eatfood and all the other eatables.

Q: How much does u get per day by this work?

A: I usually get about 30 rupees a day. And sometimes I also have to go without

money because the owner of this canteen is quite a bit mad. When I do somemistakes in my work, he doesn’t give my paid.

Q: Are you beaten also?

A: Yes, he is used to beat me all the time. Hardly any day has gone he had not

 beaten me like an animal.

Q: So why do u work here, If he is so rude to you and behave with you so

wildly? 

A: Actually there are some financial problems with my family. We are 6 members

in the family. And my fathers don’t have much income to fulfill our needs. All of 

us had to work really for feed us two times a day.

Q: How much you have studied?

A: I have studied up to 2nd standard. After that I have joined this small canteen.

And I am giving my services here.

Q: So you want to study more?

A: yes for sure. If I get one chance i won’t let it go. That would be like a magic for 

me.

Q: So also miss your childhood and friends?

A: Yes I do. When I watch children playing in the park, I miss my childhood. I

also want to pay with my friends and enjoy my childhood.

Q: what type work you do here?

 

A: I repair the punctures of bicycles, bikes, rickshaws and all small worksassociated with them.

Q: How much do u get per day by this work ?

A: I usually get about Rs 35/- per day. But actually that’s not fixed. it depends onthe customers and what type of work is needed on their vehicles.

Q: Why are you doing this work? Can you explain?

A: Honestly saying, I don’t want to do this work. I am forced by my parents to do

this work and earn some money for them. And my father is addicted to alcoholsand spends all his earned money to his alcohols. And sometimes he gets violent to

me and my mother if he doesn’t get money to drink that poison.

Q: How much you have studied?

A: I have studied only up to 5th class. After that I have to stop my studies due tothe financial problems in the family.

Q: So you want to study more?

A: yes I do. I want to study and become an engineer, if get a chance.

Q: Have you also miss your childhood?

A: yes sometimes. When I see some children playing around, a thought came into

my mind that what I have done some sins in my past life. And that’s why I am

getting result of that. But at the end of the day I feel everything will be fine and

the god will do something for me.

Q: what type work you do?

A: I work in a factory to weld some metals and sheets.

Q: For how many hours do you work here?

A: I usually work for about 12-14 hours a day.

Q: How much do get by doing this job?

A: That’s not fixed because it depends on the temper of my owner. He is like

demon for me. He usually do not give me any money because of reason that he

found every day when I go to receive my paid money.

Q: Do you have any heath related problems while working in theseconditions?

A: Yes, it’s too dangerous while working in these conditions. Its very hot all

around here due to the heat of welding machines. It damages our eyes

harshly and if not taken proper safety measures we can also lose our eyes.

Q: So why are you doing this extremely dangerous work?

A: I am doing all this due to some financial problems my family is facing

currently. There 5 members in the family. My father had died when I wasabout 10 years. He left all of us alone in this world with this “Poor Life”.

And I am the eldest child of him. My mother also works and get a small

amount of money by doing small household works in the upper middle class

houses. I have a grand mother who usually lay on the bed due to the diseases

she is facing for last 2 years. She is suffering from tuberculosis and we cant

even help her.

Q: How much you have studied?

A: I have studied up to 5th standard only.

Q: So you want to study more?

A: Frankly saying, I don’t have much interest in studies now. I find them

really boring.

Q: Have you also missed your childhood?

A: Yes sometimes. Usually I would say because the situations I am facing

currently had taken all my happiness, studies and my childhood specially.

Q: what type work you do?

A: I do the house hold work in the houses of middle class families.

Q: How much do get by doing this job?

A: I usually get about Rs- 50/- each houses per month….and I work for 3

houses.

Q: So is that sufficient for your family and house hold expenditure?

A: no it’s not, for sure. We are 6 members in the family; I am the elder 

among all, so I have to work for fill the tummies of all my younger sister 

and brother. And my mother is a patient of paralysis. My father don’t have

much work to do.

Q: how much you have studied?

A: I have studied only up to 2nd class.

Q: So are you interested to study more?

A: yes, for sure. I will continue my studies after getting my family to a

financial stability.

Q: So do you miss your childhood?

A: yes quite a lot. I also want my parents send me school, play with my

friends, I think I am not born to play with dolls.
