INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION

IKBFU is among first ten Universities in Russia in terms of international cooperation index.

IKBFU has more than 120 agreements on cooperation with educational and research organizations from various countries, the most intensive links are with Poland, Germany, Lithuania, Latvia, Belarus, Finland, Denmark, Austria, France, Sweden, Italy, USA, Estonia

VICE-RECTOR FOR INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION AND PUBLIC RELATIONS AT IKBFU

Research interests focus on specifics of Post-Communist political transformation, mechanisms of foreign policy course formation, challenges of Polish-Russian relations, political modeling, and public diplomacy.

Dr. Zhukovskij is the author of 42 research publications in Russian, Polish, and English.

Kaliningrad Government Award holder in 2010, RF President Grant for Young Researchers winner in 2011. Member of Russian Political Science Association, Moscow Institute of International Relations Alumni Association. Since 2014 member of the Public Chamber of the Kaliningrad region.

INTERNATIONAL AND PROTOCOL OFFICE

One of the key priorities for International Office is development of interest to Russian system of education in the Baltic Sea Region..

The Main Objective – organization and management of international cooperation within the University in favour of its undergraduate and PhD students, staff, and teachers.

International Office supervises both academic and research mobility programs as well as visits of international delegations.

International Office initiates and organizes various international activities: conferences, seminars, and official visits.

STUDY AND RESEARCH ABROAD

Wish to study abroad, take part in a short-term exchange or study programme or just work in a library – any IKBFU undergraduate / post-graduate students can take the following steps:

1. Choose a type of an exchange/academic programme;

2. Choose a host country, you wish to study in;

3. Study all available resources with information about scholarship programmes.

4. Choose a programme and a university and study attentively their websites;

5. Consult with the IKBFU International and Protocol Office and compile a dossier;

6. Make all the necessary translations and notify them. Have all the papers signed and stamped;

7. Check once again all the documents and their correctness and make scan copies;

8. E-mail all the documents to the International Office of the desired University. Always keep the deadline!

9. At request send the documents by regular mail.

STUDY AND RESEARCH AT IKBFU

To become an IKBFU student, you should:

to get acquainted with a list of programmes and contact persons;

to compile a dossier:

1. CV;2. Letter of Motivation;3. Letter of Recommendation;4. Copy of a Travel Passport;5. Student ID or its equavalent.

to e-mail the dossier to International and Protocol Office ([email protected]);

you should come to Kaliningrad one week prior to start of a semester to be registered, receive a student ID, sign a Learning Agreement, and etc.

Additional Requirements to Bachelor students:• Basic knowledge of Russian

(minimum A2);• minimum 3d year of study at home

university.

RUSSIAN LANGUAGE COURSES FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

IKBFU invites international students to take part in various Russian language courses.

Specially-tailored Russian language courses are designed taking into consideration students’ individual and professional interests. Besides the already elaborated programmes IKBFU teachers are able to offer an individual language programme at student’s request.

Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University conducts a complex examination in Russian as a foreign language, Russian history, and fundamentals of law for RF citizenship. Besides, at IKBFU any international student can take an examination for Certificate of Russian as a foreign language.
