OTW History – A Global Movement
1981 : “Exercise Trailwalker” started by the Gurkhas Army stationed in HK, raising HK$80,000
1986 : Oxfam started to coorganise, event open to public, 100 teams raised HK$208,000
1997 : Oxfam became sole Organizer, 701 teams raised HK$11,640,198
2010 : 13 events in 11 countries, 3,738 teams raised HK$128,943,262
2011 : 15 events in 12 countries (new : OTW Brisbane, Spain)
2012 : 16 events in 13 countries (new : OTW India )
2013 : 17 events in 14 countries (new : OTW Italy)

Finish Point (since 2009):
Po Leung Kuk Jockey Club Tai Tong Holiday Camp (Yuen Long)
Checkpoints and other parts of the trail will remain unchanged as in 2009 and 2010
It is more challenging (uphill soiled paths towards the end) than the trail used up to 2008
Every walker MUST practice on all ten sections of the trail

If a member is changed after 18 Oct, the form and a fee of HK$100 for each new member should be submitted between 24 Oct and 14 Nov.

• Write your team number on the original copy of deposit slip and submit it together with the Change of Team Member Form to Oxfam

Registration – Step 1• Check team details outside the Registration Hall
• Check if names are correct & who is A, B, C or D
• Check that the team enters the right category
• Fill in & Sign the Disclaimer and bring it to the SP (will be sent to leaders before the event in early Nov OR download it from OTW website)

• Collect and fill in the Change of Team Member Form if necessary
For both Disclaimer and Change of Member Form, ensure names match correctly with A (the leader), B, C, D

1. If necessary, hand in the completed Change of Team Member Form and pay HK$200 in cash for every member changed

Loading/ Unloading/ Parking will NOT be allowed along the first 200m of Golden Hill Road between Tai Po Road
and the mini dam of the Kowloon Reservoir

Part of the MacLehose was changed by AFCD in 2009

Support vehicle MUST have a CP8 parking permit

Control Point
The Finish Point was relocated from Tuen Mun to Yuen Long in 2009. The new route is about 2km longer than the old route.
Speed record was re-set from OTW 2009
After departing CP9, go towards Kat Hing Bridge, and follow the trail along the northern shore of Tai Lam Chung Reservoir.

Arrive at Control Point after you reach the junction. All teams must register at this Control Point. Teams failing to do so will be disqualified.

Withdrawal during the walk
• Must report your withdrawal to the organiser
• CPs 1, 5, 7 & 9 cannot be accessed by public transport (withdraw wisely!!!)
• If two members of a team have withdrawn, the other two members will not be allowed to continue until they have joined up with another team
** Once withdrawal is registered, no re-entry is accepted
At CPs :
• report the withdrawal• obtain a Drop-out Certificate
Between CPs:
• call the emergency number • pass your bracelet to the continuing team members for the completion of the drop-out procedure at next CP
