Why does it matter

Page 8: Identity Talk at Net Squared 2008

In 1999 Planetwork gathered together 50 environmental groups to consider:

There were two unsatisfactory answers

OR

Page 10: Identity Talk at Net Squared 2008

There are organizations and they have webistes, member databases and networks.

and there are people.

Page 11: Identity Talk at Net Squared 2008

People participate in more then one organization.

If the people also had identities something they couldmove around between organizations (like we moveour bodies around in physical space) there could be

some interesting social emergent effects.

about the organization

The question is how to make sure the information like hours, and volunteering is current and updated.

Data Linking creates a persistent link between the information and the places that it appears.

It creates a data link.

Page 20: Identity Talk at Net Squared 2008

These data linking tools can also work for people as well as organizations.

Self IssuedLike todays web you say what you want about your self - instead of

filling it out again and again in forms on the web you put it in a card and

can share it.

Managedthese are cards given

to you by somone else - like a bank card or a membership card for

an organization

There are two kinds of i-cards.
