The Conventional Coach springs are made as per RDSO specification W/D-O 1-HLS-94, the 12 digit identification code punched as per the specification is without the heatnumber which is required for identifying the supplier. The specification RDS0/2017/CG-01
f1 for the manufacture of FIAT Bogie springs was issued in January 2017 by RDSO. The new1"' specification requires stamping of the heat number for identifying the spring bar supplier.
~\ 1 The new Spring Plant under commissioning at ICF is for manufacture ofq'" \s~rings for FIAT Bogies and Conventional Bogies. The 15 digit code including the heatit number will be punched on both Conventional and FJAT Bogie springs. The recording of the
.C-- ML ldenttttcatlOn code has not been done and will be introduced. In the absence of data of rawe,7 (~ material supplier of springs fitted on Coaches, ICF issued advisory to Zonal Railways for/ weeding out the springs made with steel bars supplied by RL Steels.
The requirement of Zonal Railways for replacing the defective springs will be metafter commissioning of the new Spring Plant sanctioned under the Works Programme and thedetails of spring identification code for the spares supplied to Zonal Railways will also be done.The production from the new Spring Plant is expected to commence by January 2018. Tillthen, Zonal Rail ways are required to take springs from RSK.
Enclosed is the list of coaches where springs were provided made out ofM/s.R.L.Steel bars.
