However, most employees hate the open office layout because there is less privacy and distractions abound.Distractions in the workplace are directly related to productivity. You can find it difficult to focus on projects where you need deep thinking. In fact, studies show that although there is more collaboration benefits in an open office space, but the noise and distraction outweigh them in when it comes to employee satisfaction.

Some organisations say this increases teamwork, as you can collaborate with an individual you need on one project today and sit next to someone for a new project tomorrow.However, the challenge with hot-desking is that you cannot store your things such as files, snacks or personal items at your work desk for more than a day. It doesn’t allow you to personalise your work desk as per your preferences, the way you do it at your home.

4. LESS AMENITIESMany organisations are cutting some daily amenities, such as complimentary soft drinks, disposable utensils and chips that were easily available for the workers. Although, it might not seem a big deal, but it can make many employees feel less cared by the company. Some companies are even putting restrictions on business travel and meals.

Researchers call this as “telepressure”, which is the urge to respond to your emails, voicemails and texts as fast as you can.
