Wicking Properties

With so much choice of style and colour, picking the best polo for the job can be a challenge. Colour may seem obvious, as often a company’s corporate livery dictates the uniform, although you wouldn’t necessarily pick white for a team of builders! However, when it comes to fabric type, the decision may require a little more deliberation.

Cotton is often the customer’s first choice, it is soft to touch, characteristically absorbent, and lovely to wear. Treat it well by following the care instructions and your cotton polo will reward you with good looks and long service.

For those of us who are a little averse to ironing, the 65/35 Polyester/ Cotton pique styles may be a great option, being content left to its own devices and responding happily to wear and wash, and wear it again! If you forget to iron this one it won’t be very noticeable either.

Where colour consistency and ease of care are the most important factors, why not consider one of our smart thinking Wicking Polyester polo’s. Polyester resists creasing and keeps its colour remarkably well, so to keep new starts uniforms matching the old hands, this could be the perfect solution.

It’s easy to believe that images you see in catalogues, brochures, mailers and not forgetting online are, relatively straightforward, quick and easy to do. Not so, behind every lens there is a dedicated team; from photographers to stylists to make-up artists and, not forgetting, the models and assistants in between.

After scouring the UK for the best photoshoot location we finally found the one. A secret North London location full of exciting props and with a cool and quirky atmosphere. The excitement was building as we we explored like kids in a toy shop, the curiosities of props on display from mini sewing machines to vintage lamps and frames – it was safe to say we were going to have a lot of fun on this shoot!

The technical demands of the shoot fall on the photographer and his trusty assistant to arrange the studio, organise lighting, batteries and memory cards. Long gone are the days when you would have to judge the shoot using Polaroids or wait for film to be developed to see the final shot.

During set-up the hair and make-up artist gets the models' transformation underway – even the most perfect skin needs to be prepped to look flawless under strong indoor lighting. It was also time to organise the clothing and accessories. Henbury Brand Manager, Susan Bremner, had created a look and feel for every style and with her creative input throughout the day the models and clothes are tweaked, pressed, pinned and dressed.

Hair and makeup done, the models are ready and the photographer set. During takes we got to know the team starting with the creative makeup and hair artist, Ann-Marie. From Stockholm, and based in London, Ann-Marie has worked in many shoots from live TV to music artists. Regular travel and the glamorous world of fashion is what has led Ann-Marie to spend 15 years in the industry. Ann-Marie mentions how much faster it is now than before the age of digital cameras (how could we forget!).

Next we spoke to recent graduate and full time London based model, Tiffany. From being scouted at the early age of 4,

Tiffany is no stranger to the fashion world, from the catwalk to catalogues, Gucci to Jasper Conran, she’s covered it all. When on shoot Tiffany likes to pursue her love for writing as there is always plenty of time between takes and she always follows the philosophy of ‘Beauty may get you through the door but your personality will keep you in the room’. This girl shows us there is more to her than meets the eye. Next up on our agenda is model Chris Jones…

Based in Hertfordshire, Chris has been modelling for the past 6 years along with working in a bar, football coaching and

acting. This multi-talented model has been as far as New York fashion week but claims Scotland to be one of his most favourite places. With over 1000 photoshoot appearances under his belt, Chris has worked with the likes of Chanel and L’Oréal and has met an array of famous faces from supermodel Kate Moss to Lily Allen and Benicio del Toro. Chris recalls his longest shoot where he spent 6 hours in makeup alone, despite this he cannot imagine doing anything more fun and exciting than modelling.

With the shoot nearing completion it’s time to start making sure all angles are

covered and we have what we need to pull together the Henbury 2014 brochure. Now all we need to do is look through thousands of images and select our favourite ones!

ICONS WASH GUIDE

To ensure your Henbury garments have a long and happy life, please follow the care instructions carefully.

Always wash similar colours together.

Use colour recommended detergents for coloured garments as these help prevent fading.

Wash and dry inside out.

Re-shape while damp.

Dry away from direct heat and sunlight.

Do not iron decoration.

All Henbury Lambswool garments are Woolmark® approved for machine washing. We strongly recommend machine washing using a Wool Cycle and a Woolmark® approved detergents only.

Stand Up Collar A separate sewn on collar band provides extra strength at the neck to support the collar. Giving excellent shape retention and added comfort.

60 Degrees These garments can be washed on a 60 degree wash.

Wrinkle Resistant Garments treated with a Wrinkle Resist Finish that ensures minimal ironing.

Easy Care Fabric finish that makes garments easy to wash, dry and iron

Woolmark Registered Trademark that gives the customer added confidence in the performance of these garments. Machine washable on wool cycle using Woolmark approved detergent.

Stretch Elastane content that gives stretch for improved comfort and fit.

Teflon Fabric treatment which repels stains and water to keep garments looking good for longer.

Anti-UV Ultra Violet Protection Factor +50.

Waterproof Fabric is tightly woven or coated to prohibit water penetration.

Wicking woven fabric with anti-uv and quick dry properties.

Fabric using this specially engineered yarn, absorbs moisture from the skin and transports it to the fabric’s surface, where it evaporates to keep the wearer cool and comfortable.

Wash at 30°C. Cool wash that is gentler on garments and environmentally friendly.
