The Surface of all the craquelé tiles is craquelled due to the glass contained in the glaze that is highly fusible and gives brightness and transparency to the colours. The surface of the tile crackles during the firing in the kiln. Colouring substances may be absorbed through the mini creaks of the glaze and stain the surface. It is recommended to cut the tiles dry and to pay the maximum attention during the grouting operation, both with neutral and with coloured grout. In order to use craquelé tiles on horizontal surfaces ( floors, tops, etc....), we recommend to apply penetrating seal on the surface of the tiles before grouting them in order to protect them from the dirtiness. It is necessary to clean immediately any possible blurs.We will accept no complaints for craquelé tiles got “DIRTY” during the fixing.
