If it is to start an exercise program. State that you will move your body for 30 minutes 4 times a week. That is specific. Start Small - Instead of trying to do too many things at once. Pick one simple habit and once you’ve practiced it for 90 days, then pick another. When you try to do too much too soon, you set yourself up for failure. Add Don’t Subtract - If you are trying to lose weight, instead of giving up chocolate, add green vegetables at every meal, or eat an apple a day. Commit to 90-Days - Be kind to yourself and make a commitment to incorporate your new habit as much as possible over a 90-day period and track your progress. You need to give yourself the time needed to change. Find Like-Minded People - If you are hanging around with negative people, you will have a tendency to be negative too. Find some positive people to spend your time with. Eat with people who eat healthy, not that eat fast food. Make Mistakes - Allow for mistakes. Don’t judge or beat yourself up, but whatever you do, don’t give up. Dust yourself off and move forward. Visualize & Use Reminders - Hang quotes, pictures and photos of what you are working towards.
