Dear Visitor to the Hannover Messe 2016,
Thank you for your interest in the American exhibitors at Hannover Messe 2016! The
United States strongly supports the goal of promoting global prosperity through trade. That

one of their top three priorities.
I encourage you to use this catalog to learn more about the American technology on offer at
the Hannover Messe and to take this opportunity to develop closer business relationships
with American firms. I am confident that you will appreciate the innovation, quality and
good value that are trademarks of American industry.
On behalf of the U.S. Department of Commerce, I wish you an excellent visit to the
Hannover Messe 2016.

Digital Manufacturing and Design Innovation Institute
The Digital Manufacturing and Design
Innovation Institute (DMDII) is a public-private
partnership and manufacturing hub partnering
with corporations, government, and academics.
DMDII focuses on research that enables highly
integrated design and manufacturing of
complex products.
DMDII sponsors R&D projects aligned with our
three technology thrust categories in order to
tackle challenges that promise the biggest bang
for the buck. Our research will stretch the
frontiers of digital manufacturing and design.

Lyncean Technologies, Inc.
Lyncean Technologies, Inc. is located in
Fremont, California and was founded in 2001 to
develop the Compact Light Source (CLS), a
miniature synchrotron x-ray source based on
research performed at the SLAC National
Accelerator Laboratory and Stanford Universi-
ty.
Unlike stadium-sized synchrotron radiation
sources that require a highly technical support
staff, the CLS fits in a typical laboratory space
and is designed to be operated directly by
academic or industrial end-users. By replacing
the conventional "undulator" magnets found in
the large synchrotrons by laser technology, the
entire device scales down in size by a factor of
200. Unlike traditional laboratory sources, the
CLS makes a narrow beam of nearly
monochromatic X-rays which are adjustable in
energy.

Force Robots
Force Robots was founded to make robots that
are more capable, affordable, and safe to work
with. Our products are developed around the
core belief that working by force is required if
robots are to break out of their current narrow
range of applications. With the support of the
National Science Foundation and the State of
Ohio, the Touch Robot concept was developed
with the aim of protecting workers from injury
and fostering manufacturing excellence.
Our robots duplicate the free-hand motion of
people to precisely grind, deburr, and polish a
range of cast, forged, and machined parts. By
automating difficult hand-finishing operations,
they reduce injury risk while increasing
productivity and quality.
We are located in Cleveland, Ohio, a city with a
proud history of manufacturing and machine
building. Our robots are designed,
manufactured, and assembled here.
