The politics of  Egypt is based on republicanism, with a semi-presidential system of

government. Following the Egyptian Revolution of 20, and the resignation of  !resident "osni

#ubara$, e%ecutive power was assumed by the &upreme 'ouncil of the (rmed Forces, which

dissolved the parliament and suspended the constitution. )n 202, #ohamed

#orsi was elected as Egypt*s fifth president but was deposedby army chief +eneral (bdel Fattah

el-&isi who was subseuently elected as Egypt*s si%th president in 20. /
