Congratulations Mrs McCabe

Last week Mrs Jodie McCabe was successful in her application for the position of Teacher/Librarian at Point Clare Public School. As is reflected in her recent nomination by our staff as the school’s World Teacher’s Day ambassador, Mrs McCabe is highly regarded by her colleagues and students.

Whilst Mrs McCabe will be very much missed at our school, I have no doubt that she is excited by the permanent position and the opportunities it will provide herin commencing and shaping the new library which is currently under construction at Point Clare Public School.

Thank you

The school has been fortunate to have Mrs Loschi, Ms Bourne and Ms Bennett at our school whilst Mrs Powe, Miss Shelton and Mrs Newton have been on leave. With Mrs Powe, Miss Shelton and Mrs Newton returning to work next week it is timely for me to thank Mrs Loschi, Ms Bourne and Ms Bennett for their hard work in our office, 1S and 5N respectively.

New Parking Signage

I have been notified by a representative from Central Coast Council that new blue ‘Kiss and Ride’ signs will be attached to, or placed in our ‘No Parking’ restriction areas.

These signs help to highlight the ‘No Parking’ laws and are aiming to add another level of clarification of parking regulations for our school community.

Grandparent Day of Stars

Please note we have a time change for our special event Grandparents Day of Stars. The new time to meet your grandchildren outside their classroom is 11:00 am, and the concert being held at Henry Kendall High School Hall is 12:00 pm.

Students leaving in 2017

The school executive is in the process of organising staffing models for 2017. It is important for parents and carers to inform our school office in writing or by phone (4349 3600) should their child/ren not be continuing at Gosford Public School in 2017.

It is equally important for the school to be informed of new enrolments if it is known that new families with primary-aged students are moving into our school zone.

Kindergarten 2017

Our office is currently taking enrolments from parents and carers who have a child who is due to commence at Gosford Public School in kindergarten from the beginning of 2017.

I would be grateful if current parents can encourage other parents who reside within our school boundaries to contact our office (ph. 4349 3600) if they have children who are due to commence school in 2017.

Grandparents Support Groups

Grandparents Support Groups are for grandparents who are carers of their grandchildren due to a range of different circumstances. Workshops and information sessions are provided on topics which reflect the needs of grandparents. These groups provide an environment where grandparents involved in raising their grandchildren can support each other in a non-judgemental way. Sharing experience, knowledge, ideas and information. Meet others who understand their situation/s. Provide social functions for relaxation and sharing. Groups are held in both Gosford and Wyong.
