The Management of GNI has signed an agreement with Adobe® Ireland to provide specialization courses to the students of Engineering. GNI happen to be the first institution in the TS & AP to offer these specialization courses for two years.

Adobe® Lab at #GNI will be furnished with state of the art facilities both hardware & software so that students can design and develop cutting-edge software packages. The training will be practical, hands-on and industry ready being given by world class efficient trainers. Internships will be provided to the meritorious students.

Many MNCs have conducted placement drive at Guru Nanak Institutions for hiring fresh graduates and post graduates. GNI has been helping students from other campuses as well for placement during pool campus events. GNI provides multiple placement opportunities to its students throughout the year and get them placed with highest packages. Though many surveys this year have been talking about decrease in number of placements for the students but at GNI this scenario is nonexistent as this year the numbers of students placed have gone up. To make this possible the department has trained its students on latest technologies like Python, AWS, Hadoop, Solar Engineering, Robotics, and Selenium. This year additional trainings on UI/UX, Cloud Computing, and IoT have been started.

MPhasis placement drive at GNI on 10th January 2018

Placement and Training Unit plays a vital role in interacting with various Industries, Multinational Companies, Research Organizations to provide students with technical exposure, industrial training, knowledge enrichment enabling them to scale up employability skills. It invites professionals from industries and organizations of repute with an endeavor to assist and provide employment to students in the placement process by organizing lectures, workshops, career counseling and training in soft skills, technical skills and aptitude skills.

Guru Nanak Institutions in collaboration with Engrip consultancy organized career Fair on 15th March 2018. The final year students and the graduated students of the previous year were provided with an opportunity to enroll. Twenty one popular MNCs like Tech Mahindra, MRoads, Cyber Motion, Just Dial, Yello Messenger, Focus Solutions and so on, have been a part of the Career Fair. Around 38 colleges participated and 3000 students registered for the Fair.

School of Pharmacy, GNITC organized the 2nd International Conference on Innovations in Pharmaceutical Sciences (ICIPS-2017) on 28th & 29th July 2017 with an aim to provide a unique platform for researchers, professionals, academicians and the experts of Pharma industry and allied fields of health care to interact and share their experiences & knowledge on “Innovations and Global Trends in Pharmaceutical Sciences”.

It was organized in association with The Indian Hospital Pharmacists’ Association, Indian Pharmaceutical Association Education Division, Bion Therapeutics (I) Pvt. Ltd (affiliated with Nulink Corp., Japan, Journal of Global Trends in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Journal of Innovation in Pharmaceutical sciences.

The Chief Guest for the conference was Dr. M.M. Gupta, Professor, University of the West Indies, Trinidad. The Guests of Honour include Dr.Ch.Sridevi, Professor, AIMST University Malaysia; Dr. R. S. PRAKASHAM, Senior Principal Scientist & Deputy Director, CSIR- IICT Hyderabad; Dr.K.Ramadas, President Telangana Pharmacy College Managements Association. More than 700 delegates from various Institutions across the country and beyond the border participated in the conference. Around 250 poster presentations and 100 paper presentations have been made by the delegates.

On the day of Valediction, Dr. S. Sobharani, Professor, JNTUH was the chief Guest and Dr M. Ajitha, Professor, JNTUH was the Guest of Honor. The best presenters received award of Appreciation.

2nd International Conference on Innovations in Pharmaceutical Sciences (ICIPS-2017) - 28th and 29th July 2017

The organizing team of ICIIT conference conducted Pre-Conference tutorials in the research areas of “High Performance Computing” , “Amazon Web Services”, “Image Retrieval and Predictive Modeling Using Regression” for the benefit of students, research scholars and faculty. Around 400 students, faculty and technocrats from various institutions apart from GNI participated. An alluring response was witnessed for the pre-conference tutorials from the twin states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Guru Nanak Institutions organized the 5th International Conference on Innovations in Computer Science and Engineering (ICICSE-2017) and 1st International Conference on Innovations in Information Technology (ICIIT-2017) on 18th & 19th August 2017 in collaboration with Microsoft, Computer Society of India, DRDO, CSIR and Springer LNNS Series Publication.

The primary objective of ICICSE-2017 and ICIIT-2017 has been to provide an opportunity for all the professional and aspiring researchers, scientists, academicians and engineers to exchange their innovative ideas and new research findings in the field of Computer Science & Engineering and Information Technology.

The inaugural function was presided by Honorable Chief Guest Dr.Sanjay Mohapatra, President, Computer Society of India. Dr. K. Srinivas, Outstanding Scientist (Scientist-H) and Director, DCCT, DRDL, DRDO, Hyderabad and Dr. N. Aparna, Group Head, NRSC, Data Center, Dept. of Space, ISRO, Hyderabad were the Guests of Honor for the Conference.

It has been an incredible initiative to organize two conferences simultaneously executing separate proceedings by departments of CSE and IT. The new Journal of Innovations in Information Technology (JIIT) VOL 1 ISSUE 1 has been released during ICIIT-2017.

Department of ECE, GNIT in association with IETE Students Forum and ECE Department Association organized a two day workshop on “PCB DESIGN AND FABRICATION” in collaboration with PGP Electronics Pvt. Ltd. The key focus of the workshop has been to provide knowledge about Complete PCB Designing using simulation tool to test electronics & electrical circuit in software environment and also its Fabrication.

Mr. Rajiv Patnaik , Technical manager, PGP Electronics and his team, Mr. Mohd. Shareef, Mr. Prashant, Mr. Kranthi and Ms. Kiranmayee, coordinated and executed the workshop for two days on PCB designing and applications. Almost 50 students from ECE and IETE ISF association participated in the workshop.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized a Guest Lecture on “Advanced Data Structures – Search Trees” for the students of CSE. Mr. Naveen Immadi, Manager, Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply & Sewerage Board was the resource person. He dwelled on the importance of data structures in Comput-er Programming and real-life scenario. Moreover, he expounded on the concepts of Binary Search Trees, AVL Trees, Red Black Trees and B – Trees with required programming paradigms. Around 335 students of CSE attended the lecture.

Department of Mechanical Engineering, GNIT organized a guest lecture on 23rd August 2017. The resource person was Dr. J. Kandasamy, Associate professor and Head, M. V. S. R. Engineering College. He delivered his lecture in the area of Dynamics of Machines.

CONFERENCES/WORKSHOPS/GUEST LECTURES/ FDPS

A two day workshop on “Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)” was organized at the campus under the aegis of ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India. Mr. Samdrala Venu Gopalachary, Telangana State representative at New Delhi inaugurated the conference. Students, academicians, researchers and doctors from wide variety of sectors participated in the workshop. Experts from different patent facilitation centers and IP analysts spoke on IPR and litigation issues.

Venkatsam Rajamani, Expert, Indian patent office, Chennai, spoke on trademark and brand protection, M.Vijay Kumar, Sr. IP analyst from I-win Patent Services spoke on the basics of intellectual property rights, emerging trends in IPR legislation in electronics and software industry and scope of IPR in academic research. Mohan Krishna from Pendikanti Law College spoke on the copyright issues in the digital environment and IP commercialization.

A three day Management Development Program has been organized at GNI for senior members of staff. Eminent experts, leaders and strategic thinkers from Academia and industry have been invited to organize the program to foster educational excellence of faculty through deliberations, discussions, interactions emphasizing the need of Emotional intelligence, Stress management, Relationship management, time management. Professional acumen in terms of Research & Development, publications, consultancy, technology interface etc.

The best practices for Organizational effectiveness were also shared dwelling on the importance of conflict management, change management. The key objective of the program is to meet with the demands of adaptability, innovation and leadership in view of parents and students expectations to improve the quality of academic structure and practices.

Reddy, Director (AIMSCS), University of Hyderabad. He inaugurated the conference addressing the participants on innovations in Mechanical Engineering in the emerging areas of research. He also released the proceedings of the conference along with the dignitaries of GNI.

Department of Humanities and Sciences, GNITC organized a two day National Seminar on “Recent Trends in Applications of Differential Equations (RTADE-2018)” sponsored by AICTE. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Dr. M. A. Srinivas, Professor of Mathematics JNTUH. He has been the keynote speaker who dwelled on the importance of “Applications of Differential Equations” in real time problems. Dr. H. S. Saini, Managing Director, GNI emphasized the importance of Mathematics in Engineering education. More than 100 delegates participated in the event. In addition to the paper presentations, invited lectures on advanced areas of Mathematics were planned by senior professors from various Universities. The seminar ended with an invigorous note.

Dr. Ujjwala Kakarla, Assoc Prof of English authored three books during the year 2017. Her book of research includes a comparative study of Indian and Western Aesthetics in Sri Aurobindo’s Criticism published by Zorba Books; Her anthology of Poetry entitled “Musical Marvels of self”has been published by Zorba Books; Her current book Heart to Pen is an anthology of anecdotes and parables published by Partridge Publishing House, USA, a partner of Penguin Random House. She has been one of the authors for the Oops, a book of short stories published by Raindrop Publishers.

Guru Nanak Institution Technical Campus and Guru Nanak Institute of Technology collaboratively organized National level annual Science and Technology festival, Techno Fest IGNITE 2K18 on 24th March 2018 with great magnificence and splendor. The Techno Fest promulgated vibrant arena for the students to exhibit their technical expertise in hosting various events: paper presentations, Project presentation, poster presentations, code cracking, LAN gaming, code crypt, treasure hunt along with fun games. Around 640 students participated in the annual Fest. Prizes were distributed to the winners of various events and the participants were provided with participation certificates during the valedictory bout.

Global Education Fair was organized on 10th August’ 2017 at Guru Nanak Institutions Technical Campus. Dr. H. S. Saini, Managing Director of Guru Nanak Institutions inaugurated the fair. Representatives of twelve countries from various foreign Universities participated in the fair. Around 1200 students from Engineering, Pharmacy and Management studies registered for the fair. The representatives interacted with the students making them aware of various job oriented courses and merit scholarships on offer at the Universities. They also briefed on the benefit of educational loan offered by the Government of India for minority students to pursue higher studies abroad. The coordinator of the Fair was Dr. S. V. Ranganayakulu, Dean – Research and Development.

Fresher’s day Celebration was a delightful event celebrated at the Campus collaboratively by GNITC & GNIT for the freshmen at the campus. GNI wore its festive look on the occasion, a day of interaction between seniors and juniors. The campus blossomed with pomp and enjoyment with various cultural events. Many competitions like Ms. and Mr. Fresher/Rose and other activities were held. Prizes were given to the winners.

The main motto of this talent hunt is to grab the fresher’s to the field of cultural activities, which includes singing...dancing...and stand up comedy. Cultural Meet

With the ringing of New Year, GNI wore its festive look on the winter Fest "Brumous Fiesta - The Burgeoning” organized on 5th and 6th January 2018. Various cultural contests like Singing, dancing, unique dress resonated the campus. The students competed and exhibited their talent with great joie de vivre enthralling the audience.

The students staged a mesmerizing customized tribute to Bollywood and Tollywood Movies, from 60s to till date. Mementos were presented to the winners by Managing Director Dr. H. S. Saini, General Manager (Administration) Col. Rajesh Kumar and Associate Director, R. K. Singh.

NSS ACTIVITIES

NSS volunteers rendered their charitable service by distributing note books and bags at Govt. High School, Ibrahimpatnam on 13th June 2017

Service of CharityNSS Unit, GNITC supported the Voluntary Blood Donation program at the School of Pharmacy organized on 21st August 2017 in association with Thalassemia & Sickle Cell Society. Around 298 donors have voluntarily donated their blood.

NSS Unit, GNITC supported the School of Pharmacy in organizing a Pharma Rally on 14th Nov, 2017 on the eve of World Diabetes Day. The rally was conducted from GNITC campus to Khanapur village. Subsequently, a health awareness program was organized at Khanapur village in association with Omni hospitals. Health-aid services like RBS (Random Blood Sugar), BP Check up, BMI & General physician consultations, were undertaken for the residents of Khanapur village. The student pharmacists played a key role in Health Awareness Program. Generic medicines were distributed free of cost to the patients on the prescription of Physicians. More than 150 persons of the village have availed themselves of the benefit.

NSS Cell, GNIT organized “Tree Plantation Program in college campus on 11th July, 2016. Around 500 saplings were planted by the Management, Principal, Vice-Principal, HODs of different departments, staff and 100 NSS student volunteers.

NSS Unit, GNITC participated in the 5k Run on 4th February 2018. Totally 120 students participated from all the departments. The program was organized by the Yashodha group of Hospitals Hyderabad in view of creating awareness on Cancer, to fight and prevent.

On the occasion of voters day, NSS unit, GNIT conducted an awareness program on “Enrollment for Vote ID” for three days i.e., from 8th to 10th February 2018. Mr. A. Venkat Reddy, MRO, Ibrahimpatnam, was the invited Chief Guest for the program . More than 1500 students took part in the event.

GRADUATION / PLACEMENT/ ORIENTATION DAY

Guru Nanak Institutions bloomed with great festivity on the occasion of Graduation and Placement Day Ceremony amidst the serene surroundings of the campus. Dr. C. Muralidhar, Scientist-G, Directorate of Non-Destructive Evaluation, Defence Research and Development Laboratory, Hyderabad graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and Dr. V. Malla Reddy, Ex-Registrar, Kakatiya University, Warangal was the Guest of Honor. Overall 666 graduates of GNITC & GNIT have been conferred with undergraduate and Postgraduate degrees. Dr. H. S. Saini, Managing Director, GNI congratulated the alumni who have been placed in more than 90 multinational Companies or industries of repute through on or off campus placements with high annual package.

GNI blossomed into a spectacular fervor with the arrival of freshmen accompanied by their parents & guardians with high dreams and ambitions looking towards GNI. On the auspicious Occasion, the Vice-Chairman, Sardar Gagan Deep Singh Kohli addressed the gathering through his brief and inspiring speech dwelling on the state-of-art facilities and the achievements of GNI. Dr. H. S. Saini, Managing director expounded on the importance of education and punctuality.

Guru Nanak Institutions Technical Campus boomed in full swing with annual Day Celebration. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Ned Modi, Managing Director, Berkadia and the Guest of Honor being Mr. Narasimha Shekhar, Head Architect, Wipro. The inauguration began with the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest and the dignitaries of GNI.

Dr. Rama Linga Reddy, Director, GNITC presented the annual report on Academics and infrastructure, Centers of Excellence, placement and training, Initiatives by the departments, MOUs, Research Promotion schemes and financial grants, faculty and students’ achievements.

Dr. H. S. Saini, Managing Director, GNI addressed the assemblage on placement and training, new projects, and about alumni who have been placed in the best MNCs with high package. He obliged to upgrade the classrooms and laboratories, impart quality education by recruiting the best experts. He laid emphasis on fostering industry tie ups to move ahead on the path of progression. He finally congratulated all the meritorious students and the achievements of members of staff.

Mr. Ned Mody, Managing Director, Berkadia expressed his pleasure for inviting him as the Chief Guest. He dwelled on the importance of technical education that should impart infotainment. He congratulated the achievers and wished the graduating students to get placed in top companies. He highlighted that GNI is one of the best institutions to sign MOU with Berkadia.

Mr. Narasimha Shekhar, Head Architect, Wipro spoke on industry trends and the expectations they keep on the graduating students. He focused on three mantras viz., Artificial Intelligence, Big Data and IOT emphasizing the importance of machine learning.

The Guests were felicitated by the dignitaries preceded by the felicitation of meritorious students, winners in extra-curricular activities, research oriented and long standing faculty who have been an asset to the institution. The felicitation ceremony was followed by several cultural events enthralling the audience.
