NOTICEOFRACE MiddleHarbourYachtClubinconjunctionwithGiantStepsSydneyinviteseligibleboatstocompeteinthe2017GiantStepsAutismSailingRegatta.TheOrganisingAuthorityistheMiddleHarbourYachtClub(MHYC).1.0 RULES1.1 TheRacewillbegovernedbythefollowing;

-theRacingRulesofSailing(RRS),-theSpecialRegulationsofAustralianSailing(AS),-theMHYCSafetyRequirements,-theMHYCConditionsofEntry,andby-thisNoticeofRaceandtheSailingInstructions.

1.2 TheRacewillbea‘Pursuit’racewithahandicappedstartingsequence.1.3 TheRacewillbecategorizedas‘NonSpinnaker’.Nosailsshallbesetforwardofamastwhicharenot

normallycarriedforwardofthatmastwhenworkingtowindward.OnlyamainsailandheadsailsasdefinedinRRS50.4shallbeused.Headsailsshallnotbesetflying.

2.0 ADVERTISING2.1 AdvertisingonaboatshallcomplywiththerequirementsofWorldSailingRegulation20(AdvertisingCode).2.2 TheOrganisingAuthorityorGiantStepsSydneymayprovidesponsor’sdecalsandorbackstayflags.Aboat

shalldisplaythesponsor’snameandorbackstayflaginaccordancewiththisNoticeofRaceandtheSailingInstructions.

3.0 ELIGIBILITYANDENTRY3.1 TheRaceisopentoboatsthatareasinglehulledandself-rightingdesign.Allboatsenteringshallholdand

submitthefollowingdocumentation;-acurrentCategory7(orhigher)AustralianSailingSpecialRegulations‘EquipmentComplianceForm’or-acurrentSurveyCertificateissuedbyNSWRoads&MaritimeServices.-evidenceofpersonalriskcoverofnolessthan$10millionbywayofaCertificateofCurrencyorPolicydocumentcopy;-andbeontheRegisterofaSailingClubaffiliatedwithitsNationalAuthority.

3.2 EligibleboatsshallenterbycompletingtheattachedRegistrationFormandsigninganddatingthe‘MHYCConditionsofEntry’.

3.3 RegistrationformsandallabovedocumentationshallbesubmittedtoGiantStepsbycloseofentries.3.4 Closeofentrieswillbe2359hoursonMonday16thOctober2017.3.5 TheOrganisingAuthorityinconjunctionwithGiantStepsSydneymay,atitsdiscretion,varytheseeligibility

andentryrequirementsifitdeemsthattheentryofaboatinthisracehasthepotentialtoadvancethequalityofracinginthisrace.

andtheeventSponsor’s,includingtheirrespectiveofficer’s,employees,volunteersandmembers,willnotacceptanyliabilityforanyloss,materialdamageorpersonalinjuryordeathsustainedinconjunctionwithorpriorto,duringoraftertherace.

11.2 TheOrganisingAuthority,GiantStepsSydneyandSponsors,arenotresponsiblefortheseaworthinessofayachtwhoseentryisacceptedorthesufficiencyoradequacyofitsequipment.

11.3 CompetitorsattentionisdrawntoRRS4.0‘DecisiontoRace’.“Theresponsibilityforaboats’decisiontoparticipateinaraceortocontinueracingishersalone.”

12.0 BERTHING&MOORINGS12.1 Limitedcasualberthingandmooringsareavailabletoboatscompetinginthisrace.Allrequestsforcasual

berthingandmooringsshallbemadebycompletingthe‘CasualBerthingRegistration’formavailablefromtheMHYCWebsitewww.mhyc.com.au.

12.2 OnRaceDay,berthingontheouter‘T-Heads’oftheMarinawillnotbeavailable.Theouter‘T-Heads’willbereservedonlyforpick-upsanddrop-offsforboatsneedingtofacilitatetheirguestsandcrew.CompetitorsarerequestedtocontacttheMHYC“DockMaster”onVHFCh73whenapproachingtheMarinatotemporarilytie-upforpick-upsanddropoffs.

13.0 TENDERSERVICE13.1 OnRaceDay,theOrganisingAuthoritywillprovideaTenderServiceforboatscompetinginthisracewhoare

mooredintheimmediateareaaroundtheClub.AlimitedservicemayalsobeprovidedtoboatsinHunter’sBay,whoarelimitedbydrafttoenterMiddleHarbour.CompetitorsarerequestedtocontacttheMHYC“DockMaster”onVHFCh73whenrequiringthisservice.
