GENERAL AGREEMENT ON
TARIFFS AND TRADE
Working Party on Trade Arrangements between India, the United Arab Republic and Yugoslavia
TRADE COVERAGE OF THE SPECIAL TARIFF CONCESSIONS LISTED IN THE PROTOCOL OF 16 JULY 1969 AMENDING THE TRIPARTITE AGREEMENT BETWEEN INDIA, THE UNITED ARAB REPUBLIC AND YUGOSLAVIA
The Governments of India, the United Arab Republic and Yugoslavia have notified the Director-General, for the information of contracting parties, the text of a" Protocol signed by them on 16 July 1969 amending the Agreement on Trade Expansion and Economic Co-operation of 23 December 1967. The text of the Protocol as approved by the CONTRACTING PARTIES on 14- November 1968 is reproduced in L/32^2.
Trade coverage of the products included in the original common list may be found in Spec(68)59 of 11 June 1968.
The present paper shows in Tables 1-3 the most-favoured-nation rates of duties and the value of trade of the three countries in respect of the fifty-seven products included in the additional list.
Table 1 shows the value of trade in the fifty-seven additional prdducts together with total value of exports and imports of the three countries in 1967.. As may be seen from this Table, imports of the fifty-seven products accounted for nearly $790 million, slightly over 15 per cent of total imports. Imports originating in the three countries amounted to $39 million, i.e., about 5 per cent of the value of imports of those products from all origins. Related to total imports, intra-trade in the fifty-seven products accounted for less than 0.8 per cent of total imports into India, the United Arab Republic and Yugoslavia combined.
Exports of the fifty-sevon products amounted to nearly $680 million, about one fifth -of total exports.
Detailed data on trade in these commodities are reported in Table 3 while Table 2 shows the most-favoured-nation tariff rates at present in force.
