FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK...

My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Reflecting on the thoughts of Pope Francis during his time

in Ireland, let us continue to pray for all of our families.

Let us remember in a most special way those who are

struggling in any way.

Let us also remember this Labor

Day, the blessing found in work.

While sometimes tedious, work

can be a way for us to use our

talents for the greater good. If we

look to the example of St. Joseph we can find great

inspiration for the challenges that we may face.

St. Joseph, patron of workers, pray for us.

As is our practice, we will gather at 9 a.m. in the Church to

give thanks to Almighty God for the gift of work and for

health that permits us to do the work. We pray especially

for those who are not able to work or those who cannot find

employment. After Mass, please join other parishioners for

a cup of coffee and a sweet treat.

I am so happy that our children at Corpus Christi Academy

got off to such a wonderful start last Tuesday. They were

full of smiles as they were welcomed back by an

enthusiastic faculty and staff. We are so blessed to have

such an awesome school. If you know someone looking

for the finest in Catholic Education, be sure to tell them to

consider our Academy.

I received a letter from our newest seminarian, Eric Lee,

this week. He is doing very well in Novitiate and sends his

prayers and best wishes. Please remember him in your

prayers as he was to receive the Dominican Habit this past

Thursday, August 30th.

I also had the opportunity to visit with Joe McCarron this

past week. He just returned to Borromeo to begin his third

year of Seminary. It is hard to believe. Time flies!

As you read this letter I will be in Italy. Please

know that I will remember you and your

intentions in my prayers as I visit the tombs of

the saints. Please remember me and my

fellow pilgrims from the Senior Class of the

Lyceum in your prayers as we visit the sites of Rome,

Florence and Assisi.

May God’s blessings be yours this week. Father Ireland

clothing to clients living in seven nearby zip codes,

including our own. Each Saturday, volunteers assigned

from the various parishes help pack and distribute

groceries, sort and distribute clothing, and provide

hospitality assistance and registration for clients.

If you are interested in getting involved as a volunteer at

the Center please call the Parish Office (216.382.7601)

Thank you to all who faithfully support our parish

the mission of Jesus Christ in South Euclid. It is only

with your continued and regular support that we can

provide the current variety of parish ministries to

them. If you have discontinued your financial suport,

please consider reinstating that practice.

Parents: Please encourage your children to develop

the practice of bringing their envelopes weekly when

they come to church with you.

If you would be interested in a carefree way to

contribute to your parish each month, please call Eileen

Gerome at the Parish Office Monday thru Wednesday

(216.382.7601). She will be happy to assist you in

Parish School of Religion

The first day of classes this year will be Sunday, September 9. Class times will be from

10 to 11:15 a.m. We invite parents to consider joining their child (children) after class in the Church each week for the 11:30 a.m. Mass.

Please take the time to stop by the Parish Office and pick up a registration form , fill it out (one for each child in your family), and return it with the class fee when you come for orientation on the 9th.

At the moment our class sizes are quite small. We are hopeful that vacation and the beginning of the school year in their regular day school has momentarily pushed the obligation of parents to educated their children in the Faith to the back of their consciousness. REMEMBER, your children are ALWAYS welcome to come and to learn more about God.

Parishioners, families, and Friends:

What an exciting start to the 2018-

19 school year at the Academy. It

started on a high note as students, faculty and staff filled

the halls with music, streamers, balloons and sidewalk

chalk to welcome each other back. The students and staff

strengthened their rapport, and students are excited to

return to the Academy each day to see what “new learning

adventure” our caring staff has in store for them.

Last Thursday we welcomed our newest Eaglets to the

Academy with a couple of hours of introduction on

Thursday and a half-day of learning on Friday. The full-

day program begins this Tuesday. We are so very excited

to welcome these new students and families to the Corpus

Christi Academy family!

We look forward to our first all school mass on September

5th. We thank the parishioners of both Sacred Heart of

Jesus and St. Clare parishes for their support. We ask you

to keep us in your prayers, as we keep you in ours.

All of us at the Academy invite parishioners, families and

friends to visit throughout the school year and observe us

in action.

Peace, Ken Mitskavich, Principal
