CHAPTER – 2
INTRODUCTION OF THE PROJECT/BACKGROUND INFORMATION
1.1 IDENTIFICATION OF THE PROJECT AND PROJECT PROPONENT
This is an existing project of Sand Stone mining.
The project name is M/s. Sand Stone Mine of shree RAJUBHAI HAMIRBHAI SOLANKI,which is located at Survey no. Raval River Bed Vill.Umej, Tal.Una, Dis.Gir Somnath.
Category of project – B Sr. No. In the schedule – 1(a) The existing Lease area 2.00.00 hectare The applicant M/s. shree RAJUBHAI HAMIRBHAI SOLANKI is
Proprietor in this proprietorship firm. The Lease copy is attached as per Annexure – 1 of Form – I application.
1.2 BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF NATURE OF PROJECT.
Sand Stone mining is a practice to extract building material, mainly through
excavation by in an open pit mining. Sand stone is a main material for building
construction material. In the construction business building sand plays an
important role in the saurashtra region.
sand is mineral present as sand stone benches. The height and thickness of
bench is vary with place to place. The average thickness of the is around 2.00
meters. Sand is excavation by earth mover vehicle like JCB etc..The average
annual production of sand stone @ 4000 MT/Month.
Project Report River Bed sand mine of Rajubhai Hamirbhai Solanki
1.3 NEED FOR THE PROJECT AND IMPORTANCE TO THE COUNTRY The Mining project falls in the area of the Gir Somnath district, Gujarat. As
industrial growth and infrastructure growth is going on day by day in Gujarat,
there is huge requirement of sand stone that plays a very crucial role in any
developing countries .These product should be cleaning as per market demand
and transferred construction site.
1.4 DEMAND AND SUPPLY GAP As infrastructure growth is on peak in Gujarat, there is a huge demand of sand
as a secondary material so there is a marginal gap between demand and supply.
1.5 EXPORT POSSIBILITY
Currently, sand is not export in any country so ‘0’ possibility.
1.6 DOMESTIC/EXPORT MARKET sand mineral use in local market building construction industry. It is not seen
demand outside region area and country because of it is available through nation
and not possibility also export is proposed.
1.7 EMPLOYEMENT GENERATION (DIRECT & INDIRECT) DUE TO THE
PROJECT. About 07 staff members including labors directly and approximately 5 persons
will be engaged indirectly in this proposed sand mining project. Thus total 13
person will get employment including directly or indirectly. Considering 5 people
in a family, total 13 x 5 = 65 person will be benefited and shall depend on the
mining activities of this mining lease area.

DIAGRAM/FLOW CHART SHOWING THE PROJECT LAYOUT,
COMPONENTS OF THE PROJECT ETC. SHOULD BE GIVEN) At present the manual opencast mining will be carried out. There is no
overburden in the area. Mining in general will be carried out by manual open cast
method by forming benches up to 2.0 meter height. The Sand excavation in
lease area and after cleaning manually by workers.. This preferred Sand will be
loaded Tractor and trucks manually and dispatched to the building construction
site. Manufacturing process detail is attached as per Annexure – 8 of Form – I
application. sand stone excavation limits of all workings are planned with a 4 meters statutory
barrier against the lease boundary or roads existing in the lease hold. All haulage
roads, the alignment of which keeps on changing depending upon the working in
the pit, joins the existing surface roads of the lease hold. Four Wheeled Trolley
attached to tractor will be generally used for movement of mineral. The mineral
transported out of the lease hold will be with the help of tippers and trucks. All pit working will be securely fenced as per the standards prescribed by DGMS.
Approach roads to pit faces shall be maintained as required. Mining will be carried out for sand stone only. In the available thickness of
2.18.53m of deposit, single benches are proposed to be developed. Width of
bench is proposed to at 2 m.
BLASTING The sand stone mining activity in not required any type of blasting. because of this
by machine. BLASTING PATTERN As above mention mining activity in not applicable blasting so does not required
adopt any blasting pattern at here.
