IT’S A DEGREE YOU’LL FIND ONLY AT FORDHAM.Demand is growing for in-house experts in investor relations. Fordham developed the Master of Science in Investor Relations program to train them.

One-of-a-kind in the United States, this degree covers the unique mix of knowledge and skills required for good IR: a command of finance and investments, along with high-level communications skills, the ability to navigate mass media, and an understanding of the legal and ethical landscape.

We designed the program to make it easy to complete:• Classes are held on Saturdays and

Sundays only—two weekends a month.• Finish the degree in only 16 months.

Classes are experience-based: Learning goes beyond the textbook. Students have a window into the IR philosophies and approaches of New York-based firms, large and small. And they develop a strong professional network, because each entering “cohort” travels through the 16-month track together.

In investor relations, this Fordham credential will set you apart.

In the last semester of the Fordham MSIR program, Matthew Abenante saw everything come together.

The way he approached his full-time investor relations job at the Piacente Group was suddenly different—enhanced by his Fordham finance and accounting classes and a lot of practical knowledge. What enabled the change? Matt cites the insights he learned from high-ranking guest speakers and his intensive, experience- focused courses.

Fordham’s IR program stresses writing as well as presenting in front of an audience, key skills in investor relations. Matt found that the program was totally integrated, providing a holistic look at the field, plus a toolkit that was useful from day one.

WHY THE INTEGRATED APPROACH?

“ It makes it easier for any

student to step into an investor

relations job and know what he

or she is doing from the start.”

Matthew Abenante, MSIR ’14 | Piacente Group
