Flexibility Cards

Powerpoint version Joel Shaul, LCSW

autismteachingstrategies.com

Sometimes it is okay to be rigid and stubborn. Sometimes it is okay to want things to stay the same. Like:

*When someone is trying to get you to do something really bad

*When you want to do something the same way without changing, and it does not bother anyone else.

Usually, though, it is better for a person to be

flexible.

Each slide shows you a card. Each card asks questions. Some are questions about a person who needs help being flexible. Some cards ask questions about you.

Do your best to answer all the questions.

Try to think about times when you needed help being more flexible. Talk about this with the adult.

Adult: Role plays can make this work much more interesting.
