If you were stranded on an islandId try to find a way to make fire from stones, or crave stone to

cut wood. Id then search the island for water. After that I

would use the metal from my belt to help create a fire if I

couldnt do anything else after I have a fire going I would use

the metal to crave sharp wooden sticks to hunt with. Then keep

doing so until I was found. - Calinorth

    Lyrics- The Outsiders

Could we stand our ground? And through everything weve learned

    We are the outsiders

On the outside, youre free to roam.

On the outside, weve found a home.

On the outside, theres more to see.

On the outside, we choose to be.Lyrics by NEEDTOBREATHEBook Review

    Green Eggs and Ham

B Grand aGreen Eggs and Ham is a classic literary work written by Dr. Theodore Seuss

Geisel in 1960 and carries a powerful message which still resonates in current

culture. Composed primarily in anapestic tetrameter, Dr. Seuss endeavors to

explore the fundamental concepts of natural aversion to the unknown and coping

with the constant whining of annoying little shit. .

Throughout the novel, our unnamed protagonist is harangued by Sam I Am, a

precocious, persistent and diminutive little shit who presumably represents the

idyllic concept of expanding ones horizons. Refusing to take no for an answer,

Sam I Am remains tenacious in his insistence that his friend sample the culinary

delight of green eggs and ham. Although Seuss does not indulge the reader in the

significance of the dish, it is my opinion that the ham represents the pig-

headedness of staying steadfast in ones ways while the green eggs are simplyeggs that were going bad in Sams fridge that he is trying desperately to discard.

Even though Sam is met with constant rejection, he attempts to sway his friend by

offering the notion that a change in scenery or location may transform the taste of

the delicacy and offers a hyperbolic amount of scenarios in order to wear his

friend into submission. Sam ultimately triumphs in the end with his companion

begrudgingly trying the cuisine and exclaiming his fondness for it.

Thus through his fanciful use of color, both literal and metaphorical, Dr. Seuss

conveys two very important lessons involving human behavior. The first is that if

you are apt to close yourself off from new experiences, there will always be some

annoying little fucker there to pester you. The second, and more practical lesson,

is that by yielding to the chirping of said fucker you will save yourself from a

    novels worth of harassment.

Ajustedand we started walking up the stairs. This isa pretty nice place huh? I couldnt deny that.

The poster card pictures did not oversell the

campus. Trees towered just high enough to

provide shade and the lake bounced just

enough to break against the bank. Well, this

is room 4. Do you need anything else?

I fumbled with the key in the lock.

Come with me inside first? He nodded and

helped push the heavy door open before

dropping the bag on the floor.

    He nodded horizontally and more

vigorously accompanied by a full chest

rhythm. Heeeeyyyyyyy. This is sweet! The

floor was covered in velvet carpet and

curtains hung in pure unadulterated white.

The furniture, a desk, chair, bed, and dresser

were stained wood. I could smell freshly

opened books from the library and

caramelized onions from the cafeteria becauseof the slightly opened window. I had no

    desire to close it.

Yeah. Its pretty sweet. Plus the red

carpet will hide the blood stains when I open

    my bags.

Ha. Ha. Very funny. He said

sarcastically. But I swear he felt the bag with

his foot on his way out.

All around me people were unloading.Sofas, clothes, sports equipment, thoughts,

sexual frustration, and probably some drugs.

A few shirtless guys were taking their time

readjusting their grip whenever someone else

pulled up to the long driveway. I stared a

little too, but averted my eyes when my

brother lifted two duffel bags out of the

    trunk.

    Jeez Alex. Whats in these?

Dead bodies. I said and took one. I

think Im in the dorm with the red roof and

    the green door.

My brother grunted and slung the bag

over his shoulder. Lead the way.

It was my first year at St. Pauls School,

but so far it didnt seem any different from

    public school. Students whispered excitedly

in small groups so that there was a thin layer

of permanent buzzing. Similar to a beehive, itwas dangerous, but mostly annoying.

The first thing I noticed about the dorm

building was the colors. The architect

somehow brought puke yellow and neon

purple into a marriage that would sustain

children until their mid 20s before fatally

ending during a second honeymoon at a bed

and breakfast. A lady sitting at a desk waved

    happily to me.Beautiful colors, right?

I smiled. Gorgeous. My name is Alex

Just. I extended a hand and we shook.

Nice to meet you Alex Just. She

scanned a paper of names and found mine

with a pointed finger. Handing me a key she

said, Room 4. You have a single.

My brother clapped me on the back
