Did you know – April is BeADonor Month
The Trillium Gift of Life Network (TGLN) Community
Support program works to organize, promote and
drive organ and tissue donor registration initiatives
throughout Ontario.
Their job is to provide the community and supporters
with the necessary tools and supports so that people
can inspire their community to share the gift of life.
TGLN works with many advocacy groups including do-
nor families, community volunteers, faith leaders,
health care professionals, youth and
non-governmental organizations, government, and
supportive private sector companies.
BeADonor Month occurs every April across Ontario.
BeADonor Month encourages anyone to participate in helping to raise awareness about organ and tissue donation
and transplantation.
How you can help
Register your consent for organ and tissue donation at www.beadonor.ca One organ donor can save up
to 8 lives and enhance as many as 75 more through the gift of tissue.
Talk to your loved ones about your donation decision.
Inspire others to register by launching an online campaign page. (it’s quick and easy to do)
Donate funds to support research and innovation to save lives through organ and tissue donation and
transplantation at CanadaHelps.org. (charitable donations are not used to support TGLN operations or
administration)
Or, organize/host an event at your workplace or home to encourage donor registrations.
What’s important is that your event is helping to raise the awareness of this great national cause.
If you wish to be removed from the distribution list at anytime, simply send a reply to this linked email.

CCN In The News: March for Meals in Campbellford on Mar 23rd
Community Care Northumberland (CCN) partnered with the Trent Hills Fire Department who checked fire alarms
for its Meals on Wheels clients.
Members from the Trent Hills Fire Department volunteered delivering meals and checking smoke alarms under
their 'Armed and Ready' Seniors Smoke Alarm Program. Between the years of 2004 to 2013, 41% of all fatal fires
in Ontario involved persons 60 years of age and older. These statistics show when it comes to fire, adults over age
60 are at greater risk than any other group. As
most fire deaths occur in the home, it is
important that seniors know how to protect
themselves with a working smoke alarm. The
'Alarmed and Ready' Senior's Smoke Alarm
Program will assist people who because of age,
physical or mental limitations or financial
reasons are not able to install or maintain a
smoke alarm in their home. To participate in
this program, simply call the Trent Hills Fire
Department and they will come to your home
and provide and install the required number of
smoke alarms and/or batteries.

This partnership will bring attention to our hot Meals on Wheels service available in Campbellford. Working with
the local firefighters, our delivery today was truly more than
