bear you on the breath of dawn, make you to shine like the sun

and hold you in the palm of God’s hand.

THE AFFIRMATION OF FAITHPastor: Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is the one true church,

apostolic and universal, whose holy faith let us now declare:All: We believe in God the Father,

infinite in wisdom, power and love, whose mercy is over all his works, and whose will is ever directed to his children’s good.

We believe in Jesus Christ,

Page 5: Feb. 26 Bulletin

Son of God and Son of man,the gift of the Father’s unfailing grace, the ground of our hope,

and the promise of our deliverance from sin and death.

We believe in the Holy Spiritas the divine presence in our lives, whereby we are kept in perpetual remembranceof the truth of Christ, and find strength and help in time of need.

We believe that this faith should manifest itselfin the service of loveas set forth in the example of our blessed Lord,to the endthat the kingdom of God may come upon the earth.

Amen.

A TIME OF SILENCE (for personal prayer)

CHORAL CALL TO PRAYER Jay Althouse“Show Me the Way, O Lord”

THE COMMUNITY AT PRAYER (in unison)Caring God,

we are greatly in need of your guidance. Our world is riddled with greed and hate and confusion.

Page 6: Feb. 26 Bulletin

Our sensibilities are overcrowded. We seldom know the best thing to do. Our souls crave something better. Help us to begin a journey with you today

that will carry us to new hope and understandings in Christ. Show us how to commit ourselves to you in our hearts. Help us to wait before you

until we see things more clearly. Then enable us to make the right decisions

and do the things we ought to do. Teach us how to find love again —

to realize more fully how much you love usand to experience how wonderful it isto love others with a great, overwhelming love.

Teach us how to take even tiny stepsas we begin this journey, and then larger ones as we go along.

Make the way plain to us,and help us to trust you even at the darkest times.

Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
