ATS FCU-Link System is a set of valves,

connectors and unions designed specifically for

the application of chilled water or heating water

fan coil units.

In General

The actuator mechanism of the Actuator uses a PTC resistor heated elasc element and a compression spring. The wax element is heated by applying the operang

voltage and moves the integrated piston. The force generated by the movement is transferred on the piston lier and thus opens and closes the valve.

Standard Version

Normally Closed (valve closed)

The valve is opened steadily by the ram moon upon switching on the operang voltage and aer expiry of the dead me. The was element cools down aer the

operang voltage is cut and aer expiry of the hold me, the valve is closed evenly by the closing force of the compression spring. The closing force of the compre-

ssion spring is matched to the closing force of commercially available valves and keeps the valve normally closed.

Valve - Adapter - Concept

A valve adapter concept guarantees a perfect match of the actuator to almost any valve boom or heang circuit distributor available on the market. Simply snap

- on the FCU Actuator to the pre - installed valve adapter.

Funcon Display

The funcon display of the Actuator (all - round display) allows idenfying the operang condion (valve open or closed ) at a glance.

Extended Version


In its delivery condion, the actuator is kept open when de - energised due to the First - Open funcon (filling). This enables heang operaon during the carcass

construcon phase even when the electric wiring is not yet complete. During the later electrical startup, the First - Open funcon is unlocked by applying the oper-

ang voltage for more than 6 minutes. The actuator will then be completely operable.

Alternave Version

Normally Open (valve open)

In case of the normally open version, ram moon is redirected by mechanical means, resulng in precisely opposite actuator funcon.

The FCU-Link Actuator 4: Proporonal is a thermo-electronic actuator for opening and closing valves in a direct proporon to the applied control voltage. Powerless

control is by a 0-10 V signal which is provided either by a room thermostat or, in most cases by a central DDc system in the applicaon range of the building service

management. If a control voltage is applied, the actuator opens the valve proporonally to the detected actuator travel.

In General

The actuator mechanism of the Actuator uses a PTC resistor heated wax element and a compression spring. The wax element is heated by applying the operang

voltage and moves the integrated piston. The force generated by this movement is transferred to the piston, thus opening or closing the valve.

Standard Version

For the variant normally closed, the valve is opened once by 0.5mm and then closed again a

If a control voltage of 0.5-10 V DC is applied aer the callibraon process, the actuator operns the valve-aer the dead me has elapsed - with the piston

movement, evenly and permamnently corresponding to the valve travel. An internal opcal path measurement controls the temperature required for the maximum

stroke of 44 mm (minus over elevaon) and consecuently the energy intake of the was element. No excess energy is stored inside the wax element. If the control

voltage is reduced, the electronic control system immediately adapts the heat input to the wax element. In the range of 0-0.5 V, the actuator remains in a quiescent

state in order to ignore ripple voltage occurring in long cables (Umin) aer the waing me is elapsed, the valve is closed evenly with the closing force of the

compression spring.

The closing force of the compression spring is matched to the closing force of commercially available valves and keeps the valve closed when de-engergised (NC).

Stand-by operaon

The wax element is maintained at stand by temperature 20 minutes aer the control voltage has dropped below Umin.
